The man involved has given his name in court today as " Death to traitors ,Britain first".
He owned an antique gun that would appear that the police may not have known about.

Judging by her views on immigration she was a bleeding heart liberal who would of happily seen Britain flooded with immigrants. This will be why she got killed, the pro euro references in the media are just them using the situation to the advantage of the remain campaignShe didn’t get killed because she was a bleeding heart liberal, she was killed because there is a section of society who claim to be about British values but don’t like democracy, the rule of law and the right to an opinion. This section views and beliefs would be more akin to stalins Russia or ■■■■ Germany.
You cannot claim to stand for the country when most of the country disagree with you. If so you stand for your view of the country which is not accurate. I do beleive most Brexit voters are not far right nuts but there is a sizeable minority. This was an attack on democracy.
The only thing most of the country will agree on is that killing a person for holding a different view to yourself is wrong and people with that mindset have no place in our society, ironically some of the refugees at Calais will have exactly that mindset. You might not believe that, others on here don’t believe that and Jo Cox certainly didn’t believe that. She believed they were genuine refugees that are running for their lives trying to get to a safe country. She probably held the view that this supposed multicultural society we live in now is a success with all faiths and cultures living together in harmony, completely integrated with respect for each other, a liberal eutopia. I however would disagree, I would say we live in a dangerously divided society. With a certain part of it that has no interest in integrating, no tolerance of other faiths and beliefs and has no place in our country. These very things taught to them in their places of worship from a young age, with a convert or die attitude to other faiths. But myself and others get told we are wrong by the government, the media and the liberals. Labelled as racist and fascist for holding a different view to the establishment and the lemmings, dictated to as to what will happen to this country. Can you see the irony here? You say it was an attack on democracy, I say what democracy? We live in a dictatorship, if we had true democracy we would have a vote on important things like immigration. Then maybe you would see that it is not just the view of a minority and the majority of the country don’t disagree, or maybe I’d be proved wrong and I was in the minority. That would be a true democracy
According to bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-36569937 he is going to appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow for a “bail application hearing”
I am thankful that I don’t have mental health issues. It’s very hard to understand why a person would kill another under any circumstances. We live in a free and democratic society which has been hard earned over many years. Sadly there will always be people who seem to ’ just need something to trigger ’ their rage, and this is something I have been puzzled about for a long time.
Is it a case of soft parenting, children growing into selfish angry adults who have a high degree of self entitlement? Is it pressure created from working too hard in order to keep up with the Jones’? Is it the stereotypical ‘loner’ philosophy?
I certainly don’t have any answers. But although I did not know this lady, she seems to have been well loved by many, and judging by her humanitarian work was a very strong woman. Let’s hope progress can be made with the real problem of identifying people amongst us who pose a threat, and not hijack her death to suit political propaganda.
Adonis.:
Never heard of her, sad that kids will be without a mum but other than that I really don’t care.Once again we have the mass grief whoring by the public, every time I see these displays of ‘look how much I’m mourning more than you’ I think I should have been a florist. I blame Diana.

+1…that would be the absolute truth of that…nobody on here is going to lose a wink of sleep over it,a complete stranger gets killed, she happens to be a mp.the media have a field day as its easy news filling…how famous do you need to be before your murder becomes an assassination instead of someone just doing you in?
Don’t worry D-Dog I think your fame is limited to TruckNet.
I disagree with her stance on Syria and immigration, there is and are more issues at home to put your energy into…but that was a senseless killing… The man is sick and has caused so much pain and hurt to her children, family, and friends…R.I.P
Wheel nut don’t overdue it were Lorry Drivers…plain English to the fact does for us…Sod big words…and I don’t have a morbid hatred of foreigners…
Plain English would be ’ overdo '.

So what level of education would you say typifies drivers?
If you are insinuating that we are all thick, can I just distance myself from your sterotypical assumptions, and suggest it would be maybe more appropriate to speak for yourself.

And to use an apostrophe in ‘were’ to we’re.
I have also joined the Trucknet ‘Grandma Police’ EagerB
And a founder member of the TN Smartarse society.
I dont think he is insane in the medical sense, more likely radicalized nationalist full a=of anger issues. Like Andreas Braivik, but with less guns and ammo.
Sad, sad way to go in 21 century Britain, being killed for heaving different political view.

I agree there are people in every section of society who do not believe in democracy.
We get a vote every 4 years so you can vote for a non imigration party, granted that does sort of leave you with UKIP or BNP. I fear though you might be in a minority being anti immigration, not that people don’t have issues with it( I include myself in this). I just think for most people it’s not the main priority. In every study done people perceive the issues of immigration to be far worse than they actually are.
Lol. I let the apostrophe go Rob. Didn’t want to sound ■■■■.
But I believe ■■■■ is ok from time to time.
She sounded like a very good local mp, which to be fair Labour seem to have. The East Oxford one, Andrew Smith sounds a good helpful guy but these sorts never make it to the top (maybe they’re happy just serving their constituency?)
Our local Labour councillor seems a nice woman but I just can’t vote for any Labour candidates and be seen as an endorsement of that bloody Corbyn.

Yeh from what I have heard EagerB…
In fact, I think the Mrs is finally coming round to the idea after a conversation we had.
Just one question though…what the hell exactly IS a ‘■■■■■■■■’ ?.
Just realised maybe not appropriate to make a joke on a solemn type thread…sorry guys.

Awful that she was killed in this day and age, thoughts with her family. I do worry however that some remain campaigners may want to capitalise on her death to boost their cause. I’m sure some leave campaigners may have wanted to do the same if someone like Farage got murdered, whichever way it goes it wouldn’t be right, but may well happen anyway. On the other hand, her death itself may already have been enough to sway people, and if one was more swivel eyed, you might think she was a sacrificial lamb…
[/quote]I’m into conspiracy as well, my first thoughts on this were along the lines of the establishment being involved for political gain too!
RIP Jo.
Amazingly when Sweden was holding a vote to adopt the euro a pretty politician Anna Lindn was stabbed to death a few days before the vote. Those against adopting the euro were way ahead and the pro campaign used this to try to sway the vote their way but it didn’t work. Conspiracy theory copy cat theory look at it whatever way, But it is strange how this happened a few days before the vote.
I’ll duck down now

Not unlike that tooled up Dunblane ■■■■■■■■■■■■■,a freemason, forgot its name, goes on a spree of death and every shooting club in the land shuts down. How useful Obamas administrations own project not quite going as conveniently, though not for a lack of trying one has to say.
The British establishment, surely wouldn’t stoop so low as to offer this young woman for sacrifice
President Obama rang her husband from Air Force One to offer his condolences.
That is very thoughtful and kind of him.
