JLR making the Jaguar brand all electric

Really interesting. :+1:

If the JEC etc banned Sorned cars there would probably only be 10 members.

Trust me those F type things are evil back, breakingly uncomfortable, traction limited, nightmares. At least the V8 versions which are the ………best ones to drive ( generally sideways ) every roundabout exit is an event worthy of headline news with the slightest excessive amount of throttle input.F Pace SVR much much better.

Admittedly the bodywork restoration on that one was what made its rarity.Bonus points for the performance tweaks and the manual box.
But you ain’t going to find many if any series XJ12’s with a solid enough body to pass an MOT and with all those goodies that I’ve listed.Ironically all easily and cheaply available at the time I built it including a new Jaguar Parts supplied 6.0 litre XJRS crate engine for < £5k.
Bearing in mind there’s not much point in buying an XJ12 to go slowly. The quicker it goes and stops the better.Hopefully there’s more chance that mine will now end up at closer to 7 litres than 6.0 and 175 mph than 165 mph, than it being broken up for parts and an appointment with the crusher.

As I recall, it was the subject of a magazine article, because someone else built it that way.
More alternative world.

Now who ‘else’ might that have been ?.

Someone with the capability to fix a brakeline.

Making the brand electric as opposed to making it a Jaguar.

You seem to be confusing stalling the job because not happy about the quality and fit of the available options to do it, with inability to do it.It was a lot easier to drop a new 6.0 litre V12 engine, of factory original quality, onto the original mountings, and a 5 speed manual conversion using the factory original XJ6 pedal box and hydraulics and purpose made bell housing, to attach a Jaguar application Getrag transmission, to the factory original transmission mounting among other fit and forget upgrades,in that regard.

So exactly what do you think is happening here and exactly where ?.Clue it wasn’t just getting a DIY oil change in the garage at home.

6 figures ??? I don’t believe that. IF it is correct…tell us more.

Well I’d qualify for membership, my S Type with 21.5 years on it’s back is still ticking over nicely.

A psychiatrist could have a challenge sorting him out.

It was identified by @md1987 as this one https://youtu.be/qBNl32_eu6M?si=pUl3F7G0ZIMFT3nG A car with it’s build costing over £100,000 fully documented on YouTube by a well known car enthusiast.

There are probably quicker, higher spec ones out there, but none will be as well known. A very good high quality plus famous.
A car can get more value from it’s previous owners or in this case, it’s own fame.

Whatever! I take everything you say with a pinch of salt.
Why is it, on the rare occasions you post a picture, you can’t get the orientation right?

The 2026 bold new look of the Jaguar type 01 4-door GT. A bit of a Barbie thing going on with that pink colour.

So because you need to turn your phone screen for one pic translates as someone else’s car in someone else’s garage the same garage it’s sitting in now the same car as in the magazine article.Doubt if you even know what you’re looking at right side up or upside down.Ironically given that ( my ) spec it might just have changed Harry’s mind about selling.

The thing will be a biker killer with the letterbox side windows.Who wants the level of the doors to be around the level of their ears as opposed to elbows of a Range Rover or Disco or Defender.

Yep. I bet Harry was scanning the threads of TNUK and kicking himself for not getting summat nearer CF’s car spec, rather the one he built himself. Doubtless being cheesed off, he sold it in a jealous rage.

I think you might have misunderstood what I said.To my knowledge Harry had never driven a stroked Jaguar V12 let alone running on ITB’s.Maybe possibly then might have rethought the decision ‘to sell’ was my point. It transforms the low down grunt and mid range punch. He wouldn’t have lost anything if he’d still decided to sell after that.

While making the ‘brand electric’ depends on the definition of ‘the brand’.

Any modifications and previous owners aside… that particular Jaguar is a beautiful car.
