JLR making the Jaguar brand all electric

Ironically the series XJ coupe was a far better looking car than XJS.The series saloons better than XJ40 let alone everything that followed the X350.But the 5.3 V12 needed the longer stroke and in all cases a manual option.

So CF how much to you think it would cost do get yours upto standard? Not concourse but tidy. Roadworthy, MOTd and usable as a second car for holidays say.
Genuine question, not taking the piss so don’t waffle on. Just a figure.

I was looking at getting mine mopped and ceramic coated, but the figures quoted are astronomical!!! :scream:

Body wise it’s as exceptionally solid as when I first bought it.Its been standing a long time not just because of awful parts supply issues but more personal circumstances which changed my financial priorities. Two terminally I’ll parents and the knowledge that taking over the running of the house was going to be more important than my toys.

The costs involved in recommissioning a laid up car are difficult to ascertain. But stripping the engine and replacing gaskets and oil seals makes good sense and depending on how far gives me the excuse for the bigger bore liner and piston kit to go from 6.0 litres to almost 7 litres that I’d always intended for it.But the all metal head gaskets on them are bulletproof.Oil seals and O rings at best are always marginal.Worse case would be a real shame in any degradation of all the new hydraulic master slave cylinders and the upgraded brakes calipers that I’d put in it.

It may as well be a million quid, it’ll never see the road while Carryfast owns it.
