James c ashworth of bradford

Not sure on the lorry but he said he built the frame on the one he took to France I think he was the first to go to Dunkirk. I used to go into Prince of Wales with him sometimes, and even went to France and some of the docks over here with him. He was working there in 1970 when we got married. He moved a few time between Ashworths and Chris Metcalfes.
Jack used to have him fetching bottles back from France or off the ferries which resulted in him being watched and his lorry stripped and searched at Dover luckily he had not gone over the limits ,that time. He had some tales about when the other drivers started going over with him.

Who was the dark skinned bloke at Ashies? Mid 1970’s.
I don’t think he was Asian.
He was in the territorials up Manningham lane and used to rock up in his unit.
