Jail time?

assuming its not weekend fishing,

I believe there are some who enjoy fishing on a wet Sunday morning, then again sometimes the fish are so bored they test the worms to see if they can find the hook.

No one…

Can force you to make a written statement.

They can ask but you’re entitled to say get stuffed.

I’m not entirely convinced that your story is genuine.

Franglais:
Final warning? OK.
Not for me to stand judgment, but I reckon more than one place would have sacked you on the spot.

My firm would

Considering its an offence, and could have possibly been excused as an oversight the first time and more than likely a smallish fine, but THREE times, very lucky if you can get away with it.
Each offence is Level 5 with a maximum £5000 fine per offence,3 x£5000 =£15000 pheewwww could be an expensive bit of forgetfulness

I think the fact they struggle to get drivers and pay £8.75 ph is a big factor as to me still being employed!

Assuming for a moment you’re genuine and not just fishing (frankly I’m sceptical about that), then you’re not taking this at all seriously, which suggests you’re very poorly informed about the wider aspects of HGV driving. If you’re genuine then you’re a serious liability to your employer, regardless of your hourly rate

It’s not just your neck on the chopping block, it’s the company too.
Here’s the first two rules for the person who has the O licence you’ve been driving on:
Undertaking No 1. The laws relating to the driving and operation of vehicles used under this licence are observed.
Undertaking No 2. The rules on drivers hours and Tachographs are observed, and proper records are kept and that they are stored, also that records are readily available on request

I’m struggling to see how anyone can accidentally do this three times, especially the third one. I reckon the DVSA would struggle with that too, and there is the possibility of you and/or the company getting an invite to see the TC. If you don’t know what that means then you need to do some reading around.

Oh well, that’s all right then.

weekend fishing for deffo now bigtime…thats 4 baits laid out in front of it now…
weve had, hours offences, followed by paying for your own parking, followed by working 60 hours per week for peanuts…all tried and tested .
in the middle of that weve had i start in a carpark every day and never see the office, followed by getting pulled into the invisible office…or is it only me that sees it again?
at least it passes the time till the dinners made…

Ok for some, I’m sitting here with a stinking cold, and I’ve got to make my own dinner, but got to get motivated to go shopping first. :frowning:

if your all snottery then phone in for a good chernoble strength vindaloo then itl cure or kill you.
when your sitting on the pan tomorrow morning with a ringpiece like a dragons nostril then you wont be worrying about a cold .

Thanks all for your input - lesson learned.

I wish it was fishing, but tragically it isn’t.

All the best

Truth be told some years back,I knew of a guy who used to find a parked 7.5 tonner in a layby in the early am, empty it on drops all around Somerset and then park the truck up again. Next morning repeat.

It was a firm in Leeds/Bradford somewhere and they had a night guy and two trucks.

Should have said, this was in the 70 mph days for the puddlejumpers, remember them, wa hey

Jail for a tachometer offence!!! Hahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahabhahahhahhahahahahahhahahahahhahahahhahahhahahhahahhahahhahhahahahahhahahah!!!

You have too much time on your hands “new poster”

'Kin funny though.

To be fair if the offence crosses into the territory of ‘falsification’ of a record yes that’s serious zb.

That would have to be some frigging serious falsification to go down for a couple of tacho offenses.
Way above the “forgetful new driver on minimum wage” our newly joined member is claiming to be.

My opinion, he’s just one of many wind up personas that pop up from time to time.

If he’s for real. Hand in your keys, burn your license and get down the benefits office.
He doesn’t need the haulage industry, and the haulage industry certainly doesn’t need him.
