I dont think sweet ■■■■ all is a driver, if you read his/her posts, he/she seems to be just trolling, so i wouldnt read much into what he/she says.

Really■■?
Not that I have anything to prove ‘mate’ but I can assure you I passed my HGV 22 years ago & for the past 10 years of which I’ve been employed by Trans Am… Yes Trans Am, remember them Carl? You should do because you post enough pictures from “the good old days”
How long were you employed there?
Less than 2 years if I remember correctly…
Some of us actually do the Rock n Roll job, not just dream about it & yes I did go for an interview at Jack Richards to see what the score was & as previously commented declined & decided to stay put.
Forgive me for not posting any pictures from 2007.
Kind regards.

I had a job interview with them in June/July 2003, and I was told that the pay was £7.50 daytime and £8.50 at night, paid on a 4 weekly basis.

I didnt take the job in the end, but that was because my then employer put my money up  .

Yes, these rates you’ve quoted look about right
That’s what I was referring to.
Basically same as Stobart.

These were the rates from 10 years ago, I would have thought that there may have been a pay rise or 2 since then, but we all know that pay rates are fairly chronic.

basically not

Well I would have thought that all the big hauliers pay a similar rate off pay, apart from on particular contract jobs.

Recently went for an interview at Northwich, 8.80 per hour & a slight increase after 8pm & before 4am if I recall, I was quoted typical wages which was £2151 per month take home & that’s for 5 shifts & 6 shifts every other week & that includes night out allowance… I politely turned down the job.

I’m not sure where you got that 8.80 p/h from.
I’ve recently spoken to a couple of Jack Richards drivers and have been told they get just over 7 p/h between 6 and 8 pm and just over 8 p/h between 8 pm and 6 am.

You sure ? I had a job interview with them in June/July 2003, and I was told that the pay was £7.50 daytime and £8.50 at night, paid on a 4 weekly basis.

Plus £10 a day meal allowance if you are away from base over 10 hours excluding breaks plus fuel bonus.
