Jack Richards workers

Just to clarify things I do not do a day driving job , my job does entail nights outs and various start times twice this week I’ve started at 3:30 am and not stopped till 5pm
Also my firms contracts are mostly industrial manufacturing so most factories are shut Saturday or Building materials plywood and Hardie board

Dafdave has a fair point regarding the Eastern Europeans. There are a lot of bone idle bar stewards in this country, who over he last 10 years or so, have decided that they are far too important to do crap jobs.

Or far too comfy on Benefit Street. We have no one to blame but ourselves for the amount of EE’s in this country.

Well said eagerbeaver.
regards dave

And I assume you went into that job with a good idea to the pay, hours and conditions, and you decided it was the best option you had at the time?

Re Lazy Bar stewards…My brother drinks in the Austin social club, on the old Longbridge site. The old boys were in there whinging about how badly they were treated and couldn’t understand why the company folded. And in the same breath, told tales of how they used to skive off work, and do half arsed jobs building the cars, so they could earn mega dosh and be in the pub earlier. This is the reason why this country is [zb]ed, because of lazy gets like these.

I’m afraid when you go on the website and their only incentive is that you will get to drive a DAF is a little worrying

They have come on a bit; not so many years ago Jack Richards was about the biggest all-ERF fleet in the country.

One comment I will make; you very rarely, if ever, see one of theirs in [zb] order. Fleet always looks well kept.

True enough don’t see them bruised and battered

Even the oldie’s are looked after

Jack’s right hand man

True. But, there is nothing ‘bone idle’ about not wanting to do a job that involves living away from home all week in a tin box & only sleeping with the missus twice a week. For a lot of people, taking such a job would wreck their relationship & see them missing large chunks of their kids growing up. Look how many divorced trampers there are. Some things are worth more than money.

I don’t begrudge anybody that choses to do it, but tramping is an odd way of life nobody should be expected to buy into. A lot of trampers don’t seem to realise how bizarre a lifestyle choice it looks to many on the outside looking in.

I’d have to say something I’m afraid, if they can afford to run a museum, they can afford to pay me a decent wage.

I doubt what that cost to run the collection divided by all the drivers at Jack Richards would give you that much of a pay rise.

Denny told me the collection and building is all paid for & the only cost is the rates & a bit of leccy

Still money that’s going on pretty things, rather than wages.

The EE’S have nothing to do with us, it’s the EU that’s caused that migration. We as a family unit cannot compete with them.
There are a lot of bone idle bar stewards all over the world, not just in this country.
I was in Berlin last week and saw for myself the problem with (Not EE’S) economic migrants. The ones I saw were hanging about the railway station, drinking beer and shouting (In English) at the German commuters who wouldn’t give them money. The police were not far away.

Ours did this running in on a Sunday on a regular basis for a couple of hours pay , in the end I told them don’t bother paying me the 2 hrs ( £20 ) I don’t want it :open_mouth: :exclamation: ,I said ( I’m tues- sat) that I would be having tues off to compensate for loosing Sunday .
You can’t do that ,you have to be at work tues as that part of your regular shift pattern ,well if you want me there then make sure I get back Saturday , not purposely run me out of hours ,it’s not happened since .

daftvader:
They don’t have ssc though…Just space cabbed dafs…

In my experience the Spacecab XF is fine for Medium distance work
