FFS just put your feet up for a few weeks and take whatever odd day of agency work comes your way. You’re apparently not skint so stop worrying about it. If its still quiet by the end of February then start to worry. Your missus is working so it’s not like you’ve not got enough money coming in to pay the bills.

Ok food costs, have risen,.fuel costs have risen, but nothing we (me and Mrs) can’t handle.
Since I went bust in another life many years ago,.I’ve consciously paid for everything,. even though I could qualify for credit, I have 2 good cars, that are totally reliable, but their combined value is about 6 to 7 k, but they both do the same job as cars 3x that value.
I’ve got all the Sky packages etc,.I have good social life, holidays etc when we want them, but I still.manage to fund it all on a 4 day work week,.and the wife on a 3.
Living beyond your means is your choice,.I’ve done it before in the past, but you can’t come crying when it bites you on the arse and you discover you have to try and work every ■■■■ waking hour to fund it.
It’s not me who needs to see a shrink it’s you lot , all I’ve done is pointed out a shift because I’ve never seen i t before , 6 on / 6 off , if it was 4/4 off , mon - fri I’d of not said anything , I don’t intend to take the bloody job
As for can I afford to be off , I’ll clear it up again , I’ve enough savings to take me to retirement ( it’s not a boast / bragging ) it’s just the fact me & the mrs have worked / saved all our married life ( 40 yrs ) , but as I’ve said before those saving are so we can have a worry free retirement , not to supplement me sitting on my back side
