J Sainsbury Emersons

This is the drivers waiting room for the chilled side of things, yes 1 chair, door always wedged open and warehouse staff constantly in and out, and literally couldn’t swing a cat here. There is an area about the same size around the corner but no chair and near to door which is always open so freezing this time of year.

You should all take pictures of offending rdc drivers waiting area’s and send them to the managing directors of said firms…no good complaining on here t/net can’t sort it for you.If enough are sent maybe someone somewhere will do something about them.

J Sainsbury east kilbride is the same size but they splashed out on more chairs

there’s no point complaining. just tell them you’ll be staying in the cab. if they don’t like it, they don’t get the goods. and at this time of year, the balls in our court.

I did think about e-mailing them maybe I should. The annoying thing is it took me 4 hrs 20 mins to get there and then I had to stand up in a cold room because at that time the chair was taken.

so, what was wrong with your cab?

last time i was there on the chilled bays, i could sit in the cab, then when it was tipped, i used to assist splitting the pallets to get me away quicker

Strictly not allowed in your cab.

Did it take that long to get there from the yard :stuck_out_tongue:

You could always go in and ask that sweet looking blond Slovakian chick to share some of her body warmth with you.

Oh yes I know the one

Due to an accident ( in feltham ) by one of their own drivers mooching around the cab, and knocking the handbrake off, all drivers have been banned from sitting in their cabs in ALL sainsburys depots. What i have noticed at Emerson Green, is they actually check that the cab is locked, and the windows are closed, and are not very happy when you dont help them to breakdown, which i dont, cos i`m a driver, and not a warehouseman, but they do keep you there a lot longer.

Through my own experience of complaining, (Not transport related.) that is the way to go.

It’s no good complaining to some jumped up little office twerp, as they couldn’t give 2 stuffs about you. Go to the hirer and firer, the head honcho, the top man, etc etc, as it’s easier to shovel ■■■■ downhill, than shove it up.

Ring the head office, and ask who you direct your letter to, and to which address it should go to, and mark it Private and Confidential, and that way it will be opened by the secretary who will then hopefully pass it on. Keep a copy, and send it by recorded delivery so you can get a signature.

I did it with a national organisation, and it yielded results.

and at the end of the letter write “without prejudice”.
it’s a legal term. the content of the letter can’t be used against you in any way.
for example. if the boss of the RDC complained to your boss about your letter, and your boss sacked you. then you could take your boss to a tribunal, the letter wouldn’t be allowed to be presented, therefore there would be no grounds for dismissal. you could also sue the RDC boss for using a letter marked “without prejudice” against you.

If it was me I would give em some stick on Facebook and Twitter.

They dont like it up em captain. :grimacing:

It does gripe with me but going on Facebook … NO .

Disgraceful. No way I’d have sat in there for more than two minutes…

Straight in office and sat in first available chair I spot.

When they complain I’d offer them the seat they offered me.

Problem is most drivers put up with it. If they all sent letters to top bod in company, something may be done…
