It's not just one, there's hundreds of them!

Sunday driving’s finest hour…

manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ … ng-7629046

I’m sure if it was all on camera then a few requests for drivers details followed by a NIP in the post will be forthcoming.

They are the same people that would be trying to cut down the hard shoulder given the chance. It’s a pity they always seem to get away with it.

Maybe i’m just paying more attention to the news, but these sort of incidents and huge delays seem to be becoming more and more common.

Poor driving standards and just far too many vehicles on the road.

Robs bottom line there, is the real bottom line.

Good god, the standard of driving just gets worse with every passing day. I’m not one to play police but if I was on that slip road I wouldn’t have been moving to let them by. Its the usual thing, one impatient idiot takes the plunge, all the sheep follow.

Rob has hit the nail on the head, poor driving, too many vehicles and along with the blame culture and everyone doing everything by the book in case someone wants to sue them later.

The Manchester Evening News need to get a few things right.

To start with this occurred on Saturday afternoon the accident happened at around 2.15 at the bottom of the M67 were it ends at the traffic island at Denton (now two lanes due to roadworks).

It involved just three cars with no injuries.

At 5.30 it was still closed with all the trapped traffic being there for over three hours.

Why didn’t the incompetent highways agency release the trapped traffic up the slip road in the first palace i noticed they soon turned up to stop them getting off!

I was travelling in the opposite direction and they never even closed the motorway at Junction 4 resulting in traffic tailed back all the way up through a grid locked Mottram to Woodhead Pass.

When I passed a bit later (not sure of the exact time) the motorway was closed at the Denton exit and there was a car broken down on the hard shoulder just after and a womble driving the wrong way up the empty motorway.
I didn’t see the carnage at the end of the motorway, but that’s probably because I’m not one of those that stares at crap like that and then crashes into the vehicle in front, I concentrate on my driving and the others that actually affect me.

Prosecute the bloody lot of them…

I really don’t see why not. All on camera, plates easy to read. Book every single one of the ■■■■ heads :unamused:

Maybe they should not have done it but moomooland is right why did it take over 3 hours to move 3 cars, what are they doing i was in america last year and while eating breakfast the tv was on with live traffic on one of the main roads it showed a crash 3 police cars turned up hung damaged cars on the back and pulled them off the road, result slow traffic for 30 minutes not like we have.

Maybe it’s because of our silly over the top health and safety culture. They couldn’t possibly move the cars until a trained recovery operative was there.
Just this morning I saw a telephone engineer sitting by one of the green boxes doing some cabling. He was of course wearing the mandatory hard hat despite there being no buildings for 20m in any direction.
As soon as it was clear this was a non life changing/threatening incident they should have worked on getting the scrap moved to the side of the road.

H&S
Only when it suits, a couple of years ago in very heavy snow a pc plod BMW could not negotiate a hill in the snow and had himself in a pickle, he flagged be down to help him (I was in my off road 4x4 going home) So I ask him to get his towing eye for the front of the BMW, I am at the rear of the car he opens the boot moves a few things out of the way and I notice a secured box, he told me “you didnt see this” It was his Hecker and Koch :open_mouth: he digs around the back and finds the towing eye hooks it up and I towed him out.
For some reason he didnt want the road closed that evening

What a surprise, how original. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Perhaps if the people didn’t crash in the first place, nah, blame us for not clearing the traffic to your satisfaction thus causing people to take things into their own hands and break the law. You just can’t give it up can you.

Ok then tell Big Jessy me what you think is a reasonable time to be sat in your vehicle trapped on the motorway with your family and kids with nothing to eat, drink, toilet etc. 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 or 10 hours■■?

After 6 hours i bet everyone one on here would in desperation gone up that slip road after being trapped like animals in a pen.

And yes i do blame you for not taking control of the situation i have travelled and lived on the motorways on a daily basis for the last 39 years and we never had these problems when the police were in control of the highways your lot are just the great pretenders.

God help us all when you get authority to pull vehicles over you will be like a dog with two dicks all over the place.

And while on the subject HERES another fine example of the type of people the Highways Agency employ! :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Health and safety gone mad.

Watch what you are doing drivers of the UK, in other words, when you are in a vehicle, be what you are, a driver. Simples.
