I was at b&m Speke the vault. From the bays the walkway is marked out which goes along side the bays first then goes diagonal across the yard to the other side where the trailers are parked then you cross back to get to the office. This is too much for some drivers it seems. Either too lazy to follow the walk way which is there to keep pedestrians away from danger or they just can’t follow a basic instruction. I was there before and the amount of drives that just walk straight across the yard rather than follow the walk way because it saves a tiny bit of walking distance to do that.
A big joke yeah? Well it won’t be if someone reversed into you when you were where you shouldn’t be and they didn’t see you and kill you and your family can’t make any financial claim because you were too lazy to follow the marked path.
It’s no wonder some companies treat us like we need telling when we can and can’t breathe when we can’t follow a simple instruction. It’s not bloody hard is it that’s the walk way just follow it.
I’m sorry but in a lot of cases the lines aren’t visible or the shunter has decided to dump a tri on them , example here , maybe parking bay lines but in a lot of cases walkway marking are just as bad

Yeah it’s quite pathetic. I use two or three other forums where you can have decent discussions with a bit of proper humour. Everyone gets on reasonably well and any idiots are swiftly removed.

I didn’t bring plenty pairs of clean socks with me this week…as I discovered after last night’s shower.
So at the moment I’m rocking an 80s Miami Vice vibe look, shoes and no socks.

Well if you wore a pair of them whilst walking of the beaten path you would be highly visible to the reversing trucker and therefore your life would be saved.
