Isotrak is coming

in January. Gone are the days you could have a nice relaxing day, now i’ll be monitored up to my ■■■■ wae text messages going off every 2 minutes

Few facts and figures

Our trailer utilisation is 23%, Stobarts is 74%

We have 2.3 trailers for every unit, Asda have 1.5 trailers for every unit.

They gave us loads of figures like that telling us how pish we are compared to everyone else.

Cannae be [zb] wae this [zb] honestly

So whats the script from the man on the ground is it a pain in the baws?

The company that I’m driving for at the moment has trackers fitted to all rigids and artics. In a way I suppose it’s a good thing as at the begining it helped me to get directions to a customer and if something were to happen they can send help to the right spot. On the bad side it feels like you’re always being watched and you have to be where you’re supposed to be or a call will come through. Can’t skive as your position is always marked.

Yep!! A pain in the baws!! If Isotrak was utilised correctly the job should be easier! But reality bites when irriot planners use it to balls up your week.

Interesting :exclamation: , I knew they were trialling it on a few units/trailers, but we have heard nothing about it being implemented “down South”
They haven’t even given us any “feedback” yet.

A “LOT” of our trailers are used for storage :exclamation:

redboxer the impression i got was that it was the whole fleet, beginning in January. bttrack are getting the bullet. isotrack are to come in and train a few drivers then these drivers are to train everyone else. The slide show they put on indicated they want to save money by using the fleet more efficiently but you know they’ll end up chasing drivers hours

If it is a north/south divide i’ll be putting in for a transfer :smiling_imp:

I will make some “enquiries” and get back to you

Only our units are tracked. We generally have no idea where our 200 odd trailers are :grimacing:

Our units are isotracked, i like it. We get a message from the stores when we approach so generally someone is there to open the gate for youwhen you arrive. They dont hassle you either on them.and they know where you are in case of emergency. Embrace the technology

Welcome to the modern world. It’s the same in factories. The last job I had working for GKN you had to write down all your productivity on a large A3 sheet of paper on an hourly basis. All jobs on all machines were timed and if your productivity didn’t match you were in trouble. I’ve had jobs where you have to book onto a computer just to spend 5 minutes waiting for a crane. Every minute had to be accounted for.

It’s the way life is these days. No one likes it but what can you do.

Think that’s the point; it’s not the system itself that’s the problem, it’s pen pushers “abusing” it. People in offices need to see not everythings black and White.

when i worked at Tescos and Sainsburys with ISO trak, i don;t think half the office staff either knew how to use it or had time to use it. There was always drivers sitting for hours on end in the office waiting for a run that any hours computation would be void anyway. It beeps near stores and thats the important thing for it.

So long as your doing the job right, what do you have to worry about■■?
I`ve used isotrak for tesco, a similar version for next, and DHL have there own version too

They are starting to brief us about isotrak as of today (not had my “state of the nation” brief yet)

We’re trialling something similar at the minute on our fleet. I can see the advantages but only if it’s used correctly. I can see some firms using it as a big stick to club drivers with. There is one school of thought that if you are not doing anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about.

Thank God I’m done!!!

I’ll keep me licence for as long as I can just so as I won’t feel a fraud coming on here!

‘Crazytrucker’

Been using it for about 3 years, as previously stated if you do the job you are being paid to do whats the problem? if it were my truck/trailer/load I would like t keep tabs on it. The system only works poperly if you are logged in and a manifest is on the screen, if you log in via your P.I.N number and the office don’t enter your manifest every stop you make shows as un-authorized and the system doesn’t work. With fuel the biggest cost it will stop the pee takers taking the scenic route, and the lazy ones from stopping for extra breaks it also tells the office your speed, so no more 56 on S/C’s :frowning:

we log on but it just commes up no manifest loaded[still give us run sheet],ring in for collection, weve just been told to log on/off, nothing about altering to break so id guess they can see where we are but that about your lot

We had tracking over 15 years ago on Westermann, it helped with getting the work and imho made the job easier all round.
It wouldn’t suit a lazy ■■■■ though!

or 130km/h+ on the hills :stuck_out_tongue:

Do walkers do their own transport or is it like Gist/ND/DHL etc?
