Is transport moving up north?

A recruitment consoltent today today told me that a lot of there big firms like stoby and booths are secretly moving there warehousing up north from Daventry to the like of Darby and nottingham
coz the warehousing space is much cheaper up there like 40p/ square meter

booths has a big place at preston that aint been open long and i heard stobby is building a new place at at the side of the services thats hardly north

who are booths

They’re a northern supermarket, depot is just off Jcn31a M6

Surely Derby and Notts are east Midlands, just one up from southern softie shandy swillers

Up North, Derby and Nottingham.

Never heared of Booths before either?! Are they something new thats sprung up since my departure in 2009?

■■?

I was on Task Force Harvest in September 2001

40p/sq mtr = 4p/sq ft = very unrealistic.More like £40/sq mtr and that`s cheap.

worse…at least a driver can get the wrong end of the stick…recruitment consultants are like politictians…lyin, conniving,8 faced…and the rest becomes unprintable

Booth’s are a upmarket food store chain that originated in Preston Lancashire. When you walked into one of their stores a wonderful aroma hit your nostrils, talking of Booth’s has brought back wonderful childhood memories as my Mum used to shop in the original shop in Preston. The smell of freshly ground coffee just come to mind as that was the first thing you smelled as you walked in the door.

The likes of Stobart and co pitch their depot’s more or less centrally (Middle England) as it saves on fuel costs, think about it logically - hundreds of trucks using masses of fuel or a warehouse that cost another tuppence a square foot less to rent. It is not efficient to trunk a jar of pickled onions from Darlington to Harlow whereas from Daventry it more or less is - if you see what I mean.

And the north is Daventry if you are in that there Lundun!

ROTFLMAO Derby and Nottingham North :unamused:
