Look i am not being funny

Yet we’re all knotting ourselves laughing anyway

No, no we aren’t, not even a slight upturn of the mouth from me I can assure you, I called this idiot out on the first page (admittedly I thought he was a schoolkid troll but now we all know he is a regular forum member being a complete fanny!)

Glory Boy:
Richardthebrick there is NO SUCH THING AS CLASS 3 so how did you drive one for years then■■?

Er, yes there is. Its what the 7.5t license used to be called.

Sorry Snowman that’s wrong, a Class 3 was a rigid over 7.5 tonnes with no more than 2 axles and up to a GVW of 17 tonnes, anything heavier and/or with more axles was a Class 2, (and obviously Artics were Class 1)
A 7.5 tonner was driveable on a B (standard car) licence up until the C1 category was introduced.

■■■■. So close as well. Well, in my defence, there was such a thing as a class 3 at some point!
Yes, I thought he was trolling at first, then thought he might be serious but he’s not even trying to hide it anymore

ZOMG! Use google before you make yourself look like a noob maybe■■? bhp = BRAKE horse power I was using the engine not the BRAKES because I wanted to go faster i dont care about the brakes when i am excelerating and the engine is a 300 so 300 v 1.2 clio = 4 the win.

FFS! You are incredibly silly even for a troll!
And you’re thinking of sewing your insurance, would that make it a stitch up?
Oh, and I started out with a class 3 licence in 1969 (four-wheeler), or maybe I’m making it up? No, I still have it somewhere, as you know who I am, pop round and I’ll show you.

Without a doubt the best post so far. In my head, I’m pretending this guy isn’t a nutcase/troll/spotty kid in his beadroom and that he’s actually being serious, and it’s amazing! Much better than anything on TV at the moment.

Yep, compulsive viewing isn’t it!

Don’t visit this forum all that much, but this here… Absolutely brialliant!
But seriously though, since when do they’ve got internet access at the mental institutions…?

Oh well, next episode please

Giving you the benefit of doubt here and assuming you are a newly qualified driver, take the trailer shunting as an opportunity to improve your skills. You may think you are a good driver but even after 25 years i’m still looking to improve my driving skills and stay at the top of my game.
Chances are the boss wants you in the yard getting some practice before he sends you out to some potentially crappy delivery sites. Again, take the manual gearbox as an opportunity to drive a"proper" truck and hone yourself into a much sought after professional.
To be honest I’m still thinking you’re on the wind up but posting incase if any other GENUINE new drivers read this they may take the advice of an ol geezer who’s done a few miles.
If the only reason you took the test is to be able to stand round and doss then maybe a change of career could be in order as you wouldn’t last the week out working for me!..my local McDonalds is hiring.

I closed my eyes and pretended I was in a drivers waiting room

Right Glory Boy, let’s get a few things straight…

IF, and I mean IF you are real, then I feel sorry for you, in many many ways…

However we are a close knit community and have seen a “wind up” or two in the past, hell, some of us have even been the guilty party!
So we are naturally suspicious when someone new comes along and posts a load of old tosh, and sadly what you have posted is tosh!
Take a step back pal and think about it, you come on here giving it the big one about you being a fully qualified driver with the ink still wet on your licence, and start throwing your toys because the boss wants to assess you before letting you loose in a 100k truck. Did you really expect sympathy or a positive response from that? :open_mouth:

You claim just because you nailed your test reverse, that you’re then an expert in reversing, which to us in the know means nothing compared to real life reversing. And the reason we all know this, is that we’ve all been there, done it and made a right hash of it…

Then you make a few posts that have nothing to do with driving, and seem to ignore any possible reversing mistakes you’ve made  Which in the whole make you look like a walking disaster, as you can’t remember your own computer password, can’t use a keyboard without covering it in pop, and then we have the creme de la creme of you falling off your scooter…

CAN YOU NOW SEE HOW WE MIGHT THINK YOU ARE JUST WINDING US UP? :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Now I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, and if possible help people, as do most members here…
So if by some slim chance you are real, can I give you some advice?

Drop the attitude!
Don’t think people are out to get you, as thinking that is a self-fulfilling prophecy!
Accept that at the tender age of 23 you have a lot to learn in life, and from your peers!
Don’t believe or take to heart everything that is said to you!
And stop trying to impress people, as that’s not working out too well for you!

P.S. Sorry but even if your Vespa does have 300 bhp (which it hasn’t) it’s hasn’t got a fraction of the Torque that a truck has, and those two things combined make up real engine power…

Wow…

Would of been in my element if my first Shift was shunting and learning the ropes, getting advice and getting used to the vehicles. Sounds like a fantastic boss who cares about your safety as well as his vehicles.

Dont be Thrown in the deep end before you learn to swim pal

Has our troll slipped up I wonder?
Using a word that is not commonly used on this forum makes it easy to do a search and look at what other users have used the same word.
ZOMG! And guess who’s name appeared the most in search results?
Is this the return of Rob K (buttons)?

Look i am not being funny but some of you are coming across as being totaly mean. Also i am not going to be horible to anyone but some people here are pretending to be lorry drivers and i know because of my training who you are and i will even give out an example not to make you look bad btw. Look stop trying to be in a gang some of you all sticking together and lets insted make a gang to help people and to keep truckers sticking together and be hapy what do you say■■? First of all Richardthebrick there is NO SUCH THING AS CLASS 3 so how did you drive one for years then■■? There is only class 2 C and class 1 C+E so sorry but you are the arrogant ***** not me. I dont usualy get heavyd on peoples botoms but BOOM!!! Hopefuly that will prove that i am not a wimp but i wont be bullyed i am firm but fair. Captain caveman 76 yes i am a fully qualified motrcyclist so how is it my fault if my helmet doesnt fit right and nearly brakes my nose and covers my eyes because its faulty exactly and then causes an accident■■? This is basic stuff here so try to keepe up ok evil8beezle i didnt say i wanted to impress her but i just ment it would make me look cool if i overtook her on my bike and yes i am 23 and so is she so i think i know how our minds work. The snowman i dont have to prove anything but i can if i want to but btw my bike is a 150 and it has a better exhaust and a special microchip put in the engine which probably makes it like a 300 so just think my vespa is a 300 and the lorry at work i drove is a 440 so that means it only has like 140 more than my bike so yeh i think it could burn off a little clio dont you?? What i will say is that if anyone needs help they can ask me and i wont pick on them. I would also just like to ask what is the best type of trailer for an artic like curtaisider or fridge etc to do the best work?

you are such a ■■■■ glory boy, class 3 was for rigid 18 tonners, you could not drive 18 tonners without a class 3,i know because my father was a class 3 driver for many years, you need to research before you come out with the drivel you are spouting, regarding the motorcycle helmet if you buy one you are supposed to try it first to make sure it is a correct fit, regarding if anyone asks you for help I doubt anyone will without laughing after seeing the answers you are giving, what is the best trailer for the best work, you take what you are given if you are an employee as it would depend on the job that day or week if you are on nights out,are you really an hgv driver or are you winding people up,my guess is the second answer

Well said E. B.

If this is genuine well my advice is go for the oldest motor you can. Less worry if you bump.
Plus older motors need driving. You need to think about what you are doing.

Shunting is the best way of learning how to place your motor where YOU want it.
Got a ride along for a week. Pick his brains as us older drivers have loads of knowledge.

Years ago I started in coach’s and got the oldest unit. Learnt loads in that old volvo. Like how to use the splitter.

You’ve just got your ticket. Expect to be treated like crop. Expect a shed to drive. Expect the crap jobs no one wants.

Well 300 bhp vesta. Well that’s more power then my wee car. So go get ya pampers changed before you crawl under ya bridge.

was class-three not simply for 2 axles rigids, and class-two for more than 2 axles but not artic.

weights used to be a little less than now, I’m sure it was 16, 24 & 30t for 4, 6 & 8 wheelers.

I can remember artics goint from 32 to 38 and on to 44, but I can’t remember when the rigids increased their weights. ?

And did you used to need a class 1 for a draw-bar setup ?

When I started Class 3 was four wheeler up to 16t, artics were 32t. I remember rigids going up to 17 and artics going to 38 a long time ago. I THINK wagon & drags were Class 2 as opposed to Class 1…
