So the scenario is your trundling along a motorway, your approaching an entry slip and you see another HGV on its way down that slip road. You move out into lane 2 for them. They then proceed to roll their cruise control up to the limiter while your still in lane 2 leaving you out there unable to move back in. Your slightly past them though so whilst you could reduce speed and come in behind that potentially going to cause more problems behind with you making other drivers brake and surely it’s good etiquette and courteous for them to allow you back in first seeing as you moved out for them which you don’t HAVE to do, it’s just polite to do so. Has it always been like this or were drivers move courteous to each other at one point?
It’s annoying not returning the gesture but it’s not a new thing.

A proper driver will let you out, let you in, not cut in on you, and all the rest of it, and be generally courteous to each other… as we all were once over.
Nowadays the industry is awash with d.heads, in the form of car drivers who have managed to blag a Class 1 licence,… we all have to suffer sharing the roads with these pricks…

This was my thinking. So you get these drivers who just don’t give a toss about who’s around and who’s moved for them and just tell the computer full speed ahead.

Yep, and there seems to be more and more of em about.
A result of the vast dumbing down of the job, where in general skills are no longer needed to qualify, so we get dregs sat in driver’s seats.
Ask Jakethesnake, he could write a book about it…and more than likely has.
back in the days of last century there was non of this letting in . anyone coming in on the on slip coasted down ready to stop if the road ahead was chocka . i bleve this pushing in / lording it on the sliproad came in about the time we let poland and lithuania into the EU . they see kindness as a sign of weakness, thats not being racist its true, run a test sometime ->you hold a door open for a pole and they walk right in without so much as a nod of thanks

Is ■■■■■■■■ your first language, or do you just speak it in your spare time?
It became…
A new thing when limiters arrived. Before that you could just hoof it on and leave them behind.

Your cruise control doesn’t have an off button and if you take your foot off the accelerator your truck doesn’t slow down? Might want to defect that mate, its broken.
Once I realise the driver is a ■■■■ I just back off and drop in behind the muppet. Life too short to let stuff like this wind you up.

Talking ■■■■■■■■. Its existed as long as I’ve been driving trucks and that’s knocking on 25 years.

Then pull back in front of him then slow down and let him overtake you then keep him out there simple
now thats a British trait, getting all arzey over someone elses opinion on forums. you want to check your blood pressure i bet its high but you wont go back to the doc because YOU are always right, see …now am i rite ?
back to the subject, i do recall that back in the day 80s -90 there was non of this caning it down an onslip forcing your way in and can defo recall seeing queuing vehicles on slip roads waiting patiently with the correct gap between each not bunched up like these days , wait for their turn to enter the stream of traffic with the indicator on -you never see that now . who cares if that was good or bad

No need for a cocky response. As I already said, when your unit is already past them and you’ve got traffic behind because you know I check my mirrors to know that, it can potentially cause more problems behind you for slowing down in that lane unless you absolutely have to.
