It’s not you it’s the way of people today, no time for anything but themselves. I fill up, go pay, use the toilet, get a coffee and leave, always have always will. It’s not as bad as the drivers that block the exit road, as is the case at weatherby services, so you have to wait until a pump is clear to get out even if you have not used them.

To me that is just ignorance, get your fuel move, the driver behind could be in a rush or short on hours it just takes a few like yourself and it ends up in a massive queue. But don’t worry you’re sorted,FFS.

If he was short on time he should take a break before he fills up like I do Ffs

What’s it like being perfect??

It’s not called being perfect its called common sense

I’ve worked with blokes like you,■■■■■■ my brain, tunnel vision, only really see for yourself, never mind,ah bless!!

It’s you being an idiot, even if you were still fuelling up you should have stopped fuelling, pulled forward and offered the drive a cup of coffee for the inconvenience, OMG what is wrong with these puny rigid drivers?

Seriously though, what I’d love to have done when told off is; put a very worried look on my face, grab the seat of my pants, run back to the bogs shouting “sorry, I hope I won’t be long”

Proper fuel island etiquette is this…

Pull onto pump, enter shop, hand over card, get the ok to fuel, fill tanks, pull forward to allow the next person on the pumps, go into shop, go to toilet/get a copy of the Sport/mars bar/bag of crisps/packet of ■■■■ etc, complete transaction, return to lorry and go :bulb:

If you’re not doing this, yes, you’re a prick, no matter the size of your vehicle

most drivers won’t know what ETIQUETTE is though! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

I personally wouldn’t do anything other than pay and perhaps a quick chocolate bar in the queue unless its not at all busy.

Quality

Seriously though it’s surprised me how quite a few would have done the same as I did and there’s the odd one or 2 who would move off the pump. Quite a debate this one very interesting

In the time I have been driving I have never had 1 person move forward for me. Is this because I’m a rigid or is it because it’s right what I did

No it’s because people are [zb]ing rude and have no consideration for anyone :unamused:

Who gives a toss what size your lorry is, you could be driving a Sprinter or an ■■■■■■ Van, you’re still a professional driver and you still have the same ■■■■ to put up with as everyone else, mind you if you have any Manc flags up in your windscreen that may explain a lot

I don’t know if it’s because we are all rude, if there anything like me then it might just be a misunderstanding. I mean I honestly believed you are not aloud to move from a pump.

I did this once in a car about a year ago and the cashier was not impressed and I just think that stuck with me. I didn’t know the next person can fill up before you have paid either.

THE OTHER BLOKE WAS JUST TONGUE IN CHEEK TAKING THE PEE OUT OF YOU
GET A SENSE OF HUMOUR MATE
either that or he thought he was hard cos he was in a big lorry and you wasnt

Could you not have multi-tasked like lorry drivers do?

ETIQUETTE ■■?
I’ve ett a few things in my life but what’s a QUETTE ■■?

With cars cashiers don’t like you moving off the pump as they catch sight of you moving and think you’re about to do a drive off. (Which will quite possibly come out of their wages if they don’t get the reg. no.) So put yourself in their position.

Bit different with a truck as they are usually holding the fuel card - which should have been checked to be ok (i.e. not cancelled or stolen) before allowing you to fuel.

As for the OP’s situation, surely can’t take long to fill a 12 tonner up anyway?

If you want to do a weeks shopping, spend 15 mins contemplating the back of the bog door, etc. Pay, shift off the pump, then come back in.

A few months ago went into Sainsburys, Bamber Bridge, Preston for fuel in the car.
Someone was filling up a blinged up unit. He was on the front of the 2 pump islands and had put cones out behind the unit, presumably because it takes a while to fill at £99(?) a draw. Thing was he hadn’t put the cones immediately behind the truck, but quite purposely blocking the whole lane off :imp:
Next time I’ll just pull round the cones and reverse back onto the other pump.

I take it you were in a little lorry by his reaction.

Is is just my imagination or is there a lot of whinging going on lately

It really winds me up when people moan about moaning! What’s the point? If you’ve got nothing to add don’t.

I find it even more annoying when people come on here and moan about my moaning about someone moaning

it that kind of situation i always start to mumble something in polish,(or my interpretation of polish) and walk off, gives him something else to moan at aswell. :unamused:

I’ve seen plenty of drivers pulling on the pumps, then just going in for coffee and a wonder around the shop.

Am I the prick here ? Honestly if I am I will hold my hands up

Yes, you support United !!!
