Is hoyer really as bad as they say

Yorkshire Bounder:
Don’t listen to most of the bad news stories about companies. You will always find someone with something negative to say.
They will tell you its crap and the firm dont know wat they doing etc. Thats usually cos they cant hack it.

Speak to Hoyer and see what they say, if you get the job, do it and if it isnt what they said it was like, then speak to them and move on if it dont work.

Make your own own mind up.

Best and most honest advice!

Money might be good compared with some outfits, but when the tankers where “in house” there was none better paid BUT along came the third party mob cutting each others throats and the Companies jumped at the chance to reduce the out goings, and as usual wages dropped and stagnated for some time.
Hoyer seems to be the only outfit being highlighted by the media,is that a bad omen or is it just a coincidence

You’d think after 7 years Hoyer would have improved somewhat !

OP - take the job with Hoyer, try it out and see what you think. If it works well done, stay & enjoy. It it doesn’t just move onto the next job/sector, there are plenty of vacancies around right now let’s face it. You will know quickly if it’s for you or not.

As we all know, the fuel transport industry was outsourced by the petroleum companies years ago to rid themselves of a big headache, get assets & people off their books, make cost savings and put the monkey to perform/deliver service onto someone else’s back…that’s how outsourcing works. Naturally when Hoyer became part of that supply chain their rates were going to be lower then for example BP or Esso previously paid their own drivers. Terms & Conditions I imagine would also have been reduced in a few ways…that’s how outsourcing works.

Outsourcing a job does not make it unattractive necessarily, just not as good as it once was. However, unless you worked for the petroleum company - BP or Esso for example - originally, left and came back to Hoyer then it makes no difference…it’s a moot point.

Best of luck. Provide an update including pay rates/hours so others can benefit from your experience!
