Well as I posted early Thatcher created a [zb] you jack I’m alright society
I’d dread to think what would happen to some of the contributors or their families on this site when they’d need some sort of help in less fortunate times
If this is conservatism then the sooner the [zb] Cameron’s 5 years is the up the better
I asked early in a post to the older members on here what would they do and I’m still waiting David
There’s been a lot of support on here for Cameron and the Tories but I’ve not seen any one back up with facts on exactly they have for this country
Camorons mate Boy George was bragging about the £3-50 a week rise to pensioners as the biggest ever, what a zb,it just buys 2 cappuccino coffees in Morrisons café,thanks a lot Dave.
The UK is living beyond it’s means and long term this cannot carry on but unfortunately the benefits system has become embedded within society by the Labour lot Blair and Brown et al basically bribing that section of the electorate who believe the country owes them a living without them having to work, the upshot being they created a dependant client base of Labour voters. Have you ever heard of Turkeys voting for Christmas? However, I am not in favour of tax credits(that ■■■■ Browns doing) as this just allows employers to pay sub standard wages that are then made up with tax credits, this can’t be right and has to come to an end and employers have to pay a fair living wage surely ! Cheers Bewick.

Firstly how are you going to create the required demand for labour,to create the required negative unemployment figure, under a non Fordist system of ‘Capitalism’.That’s all about minimising wage levels, either by artificially rigging the labour market in favour of over supply or by importing products made in cheap labour sweatshop economies like China.
While the definition of a ‘fair living wage’ would ‘also’ obviously mean enough to cover private income protection insurance, health cover and retirement funds,( decent not high density estate )housing costs at market prices and sufficient disposable incomes to maintain it all. While somehow I’m guessing that your idea of ‘Capitalism’ isn’t exactly along those lines. On that note define what you mean by ‘living within our means’ bearing in mind that I’m thinking more along the lines of 1960’s America while the Cons are obviously thinking Communist China then or now.
There is a fair few round midlands Shirtbox, Container haulage, plenty pulling out of the quarries with tippers KDC Nuneaton is one big firm that springs to mind, Cargo Carriers and ICS West Bromwich.

I don’t always agree with Dennis, but on this occasion every word is correct, particularly the bit about tax credits. Why should anyone doing a full time job have to receive tax credits? We, the tax payers are subsidising businesses and encouraging them to pay substandard wages, in effect, lining their pockets at our expense. Regards Kev.

But how will you create the wage structure required to get rid of state benefits dependence under the ongoing Thatcherite non or ‘post’ Fordist version of so called ‘Capitalism’.Which is all about taking advantage of cheap Chinese labour and/or oversupplying the domestic labour market with cheap immigrant labour.
Cameron will jack it in before long. With all the problems facing this country, nobody in their right mind would want his job. Osborne is another toad, as is Boris the Mayor, and those two are no better than Corbyn. Bin the lot of them.
Interseting poster I assume of York
While I agree with the sentiments there is a few points that could also be made where I wouldn’t blame the Goverment for.
One of teh city councillers was on Sky the other day whining about a 20% budget reduction.
He was also saying the same on teh radio about 6 months back claiming he couldn’t fill potholes and manage adult care services with teh ongoing budget reductions.
Yet twice York Council have managed to completely dig up and replace the speed bumps on all major roads
Why becuase we wanted to host the Tour De France and Tour De Yorkshire.
Conviently the overtime bill soared for the council as well
They reportedly lost £180k just on the grand depart.
Yes we should start at home but there ios a lot of money wasted on vanity projects
