No probs. there’s ride on electric pallet truck at some but they can be lethal if you turn too quick. IMO 1 of the best places to go.

Self tip ?
I think it is wrong that you are expected to tip a load for a company,do they drive your truck ?
Thanks

I’ve never been to Aldi so don’t know what it’s like, but I’d rather have a reasonably quick self tip with a pallet truck than wait hours hoping some half wit only took off what he’s supposed to.

china clay at Stoke and Duckers all hand ball…I think your in the wrong game get out now.
i know times change…drivers moan about waiting to tip, now your moaning about helping yourself.

All Companies like Aldi are obliged to have third party insurance irrespective, in case of accident on their premises, its not illegal to unload yourself.
If you do have an accident and your employed by someone ring them up and let them sort out how you get home

Please select the correct tacho mode switch while working in the trailer.Crossed hammers.
It has been known for the Vosa to obtain keys and check the mode or wait outside recording your activity.
A Pod with the times on will show a record.
Aldi at Manchester, this has happened and a fine for tacho fraud.
Lidl is self tip.
I think it is quicker and you get some exercise.

What happens if you don’t have forklift training or the ticket/licence to drive one is it not a Health & Safety issue. Eddie.

I believe that they will train you in how to use one if you ask for it, although it’s hardly rocket science.

If you turn up and have never used the MHE before a trainer will give you a quick low down and demonstration and then supervise your first unload (well, in theory!) . Thereafter everytime you sign in you sign to say you’re trained to use the equipment. That’s really just their get out clause tbh, because if you bollox it up they’ll just point out your signature at any inquest.

dream on! :sunglasses: when you’ve broken your leg and you’re off for six months with NO PAY! :imp: tell me they’re insured! Twenty years ago at Swindon, it’s a long way back to Manchester, because no one at ALDI ( THEIR UNIFORM SAID ALDI! ) could drive me home! :smiling_imp: once bitten, twice shy! :open_mouth: so most of you are warehouse operatives for ALDI? Or the East German Stasi ? Get real guys, you ain’t insured and I’d like to see you live for six months with no pay after YOU’VE BEEN TRAINED BY THEIR SHIFT MANAGER! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

I know everyone has to live & operate within H&S guidelines these days, but in the “old” days, lorry drivers were usually able to drive anything from fork lift trucks to farm tractors.

That’s not a legal requirement . as said the trainer will give you instruction and watch your 1st few pallets taken off.

■■■■ them off and ask to see his training certificate
then make sure he signs the training sheet.

Spot on ROF, and if it were only about the safety of “mere drivers” that would still be the same today. Unfortunately it’s all about corporate arse covering now, hence all the rules.
