Is a green Light helpfull,if you cant see it?

Noticed a few Artics having a Green Light near the Fifth Wheel. Never seen before.
If it indicates that Fifth Wheel is locked, then i assume it shall be on the Dashboard.

Tankers have them to indicate the electrical system is properly earthed. Is this what you are mixing it up with?

seen it on a few Fridge Trailers near the 5th Wheel Handle when they drove past.

The only green lights I have seen have always been on the back of units, and like has been said with a tanker on the back.

Didn’t some older trailers have a small green light at the front, something to do with check the ABS I think?

thank you please.

It is fitted on all Sainsbury’s units , green light comes on once dog clip is on and there is a little red and green light on the dash with a buzzer just to annoy the driver when you go over a bump and the clip loses contact if it’s a little loose.

I remember a couple of old tipper trailers having a green light at the front. Was to do with abs I think too.

Our newer fridges have a green light on the front corner to show how much red diesel is in the tank.

Muckles.hi… You got it in one it showed that the ABS was connected and operational. regards Tony.

The op is on about a green light next to the 5th wheel handle as been said .

This is nothing new it’s just a returning bit of kit coming around again.

Walkers crisp had this years ago along with the same indicator in the cab.

It’ll soon be a disappearing fad when they start going wrong and drivers will refuse to use said units as company H&S say that if the system don’t light the vehicle will be VOR’d

It’s always superstores that try to make things easier but it never works. Just give it a quick tug test and if the unit doesn’t shot out jobs a good one seen quite a few people leaving trailers behind lol it’s funny and always a challenge to recover them but easy enough

No. I think its the sainsbury Solution.
New Lorries must have a strong Generator with all the Warning Lights.

Just remember: The other Day i walked past a Rubbish Bin collectors Lorry.
Soo many stickers saying what not to do but non saying what to do.

So well. No wonder so much goes wrong in does Days.

I saw an illuminated green L.E.D. on a plain white Scania pulling a DHL trailer - I had a close look as we were in stood traffic on the A1 - me in my car. It was mounted on underside of fifth wheel pull handle (protected) and was obviously linked to a proximity or micro-switch which made the circuit when the coupling was complete. It was very bright - good idea but no substitute for an old-fashioned ‘double-rock’!!!

Yes quite right but the green L.E.D. I saw on a white Scania pulling a DHL trailer was on fifth wheel handle…not trailer headboard, surely a ‘green to go’ relating to the actual trailer coulpling, rather than ABS connection/ fault finding green lamp (used to be green Rubbolite marker lamp then later ABS L.E.D. green marker lamp). I doubt the one I saw was visible from cab - as it was on the underside of the 5th wheel release handle and was constantly lit. First of it’s kind I have seen or at least noticed.

Nothing to do with 5th wheel, its all to do with the braking system on the trailer, usually on older type trailers.
