England does have its own assembly its called Westminster, that was the problem in the past Westminster was only interested in English matters.
How do you work that out? Its a UK government where Scottish/Welsh/English and Northern Irish MP’s vote. All the others (apart from England) have their own assemblys where only they can vote. England has no such thing. As per the West Lothian Question which i’m sure you know about.
Kenny1975:
Scotland has always had different laws etc… was embarressing when the tories where in power discussing scottish matters in Scottish question time and all their MP’s for Scottish issues were English because they didnt have a single MP north of the border. I am sure those English MP’s had Scotlands best interests at heart.
And its embarrasing now, the shoes on the other foot. It was a majority of Scottish votes that got these numpties in in the first place. And our own primeminster is Scottish !!! So you’ll reckon he has Englands best interests at heart too, to follow your logic Ken?!! Actually, don’t answer that i think its universally agreed even within his own party that he aint up to much !!!
I agree with you MikeC and i do know about the West Lothian question the answer is simple, an English parliment, or even better still English regional assemblies because in reality everyone blames the Scots for this and that just now but England isnt even equal always has been and will be a north south divide. People moan about Scotland being subsidy junkies nothing compared to the London area.
I really don’t know why people in England don’t get passionate about that issue and make it an issue like people in Scotland did.
Gordon Brown doesent have Scotlands best interests at heart, Labour doesent either, if it were up to Labour we would have exactly the same policies north and south of the border, its the fact we have PR and have coalition parliments that the politicians up here have to actually think about what the people want. Gordon Brown only has Londons best interests at heart not even the capital as a whole just the square mile bit.

So the prime minister of Great Britain is Scottish, so what! I personally don’t recal voting for Mr Brown, we inherited the ■■■■■ Don’t blame Scotland for Brown’s failings, did England not vote? A certain English woman used Scotland for many tax trials throughout the years, poll tax being one, Scotland started paying this burden before England, any way, I’m not talking about the politics of the country, I was meaning the attitude of some southern neighbours and their attitude in general, some things aint right, but that’s life. Take football for instance, in the eighties when English fans were running amok all over europe it was reported that British fans were rioting, but, when they started to behave again the reports were praising the English fans for behaving, double standards. But I digress, we live in the United Kingdom and should be pulling together.

I do Ken, and i never miss an opportunity to bring it up ! I agree with the rest of what you say, except i don;t think anyone blames the Scots for this anomally. More its something the people who govern us forgot about whilst trying to placate everybody. Anyway, England is to full of foreigners to notice, the only people who fly English flags and practice English culture are Morris Dancers and the BNP

It was a Scottish majority that got Labour into power.Fact. I know nothing about football (suprisingly !!) We do live in the United Kingdom, and thats why i was asking about foreign Irish Hauliers I’ve had an answer to my question now, the companies concerned have a good rep .
If you where as you say highlighting the attitude of your southern neighbours then you highlighted it admirably, good call
What is wrong with you lot on here that you feel you have to have a pop at someone all the time. This english /irish thing is absolute ■■■■. Who says that there’s anymore irish running bent than english, poles.litho’s ect, ect. This site is for all drivers lets keep it that way and lay off the slaggin each other off. Live and let live.
