Whats the script with them? I’ve never really noticed them onthe road much before but they seem to be VOSA’s pet targets at switch island. Almost every time i go past i can guarantee there will be several of them parked up there?
Do they have a good rep over in Ireland?

Nobody with any sense goes past switch island on way to or from boat these days. I certainly dont.

Thats true to an extent. They’ll all be the dumb Irish ones without any sense that i see at Switch Island then?
The amount of fully laden scrap tippers using Queens Drive now is unreal, i reckon there’d be more tippers use that road than buses now. How long do ya give it before it gets a weight limit?

It wont be long before then is a ban of some sort. Coming off the boat its a mad race down Queens Drive. Most of the bigger Irish comapnies tell their drivers not to go past switch, so dont know why you see those 2 there lot.
Walsh Western are big company in Ireland and use a lots of subbies.
Virginia Transport - dunno anything about them but of course they have decent fleets truck and boths are regulary seen in around the M20 - running to European.
Both companies on the go a long time, jobs that one wouldnt get into years ago, unless you were recommended by a current driver. However, like most jobs on this side of the pond,an Eastern license is now a prerequisite,if any license at all!As my old boss used to say,the more eejits the better, itll make the rest of us look good.Never thought it would be this bad though.Luckily enough in our place none at all,so far…
i been driving a taxi around north liverpool area for a while.
off the truck work until shes sick of me in the house all the time.
i will be on the road again as soon as poss…however.
switch island has been closed this weekend.
i think they are on to the fact that the irish trucks are using alternate routes.
i have no pity on any of the eastern europeans that are parked up,give them solitary confinment prior to deporting them.
there are so many different routes that can be used to get out of liverpool…its easy to get around the gestapo check…
dont go down the road immediately after the ship lands…leave it an hour…wait until the strand road gate opens at 6 am.
then go out thesame gate i make no apology for putting people in the picture about this.vosa are a gang of legalised hoodies.
best thing to do/.
get off the ship and park in the dock.
ask passing drivers if the road is clean and green.
i say all this because vosa scum are a law unto their hand, will make the law up to suit themselves.
Vosa know everybody.
All irish targets . should be. Evry irish operator is running bent.
I challenge any of them to contradict me. I have tacho going back years that wernt collected and letters>. I am unemployed now cause I wount run bent.
and although I starven evry day I m’ free.

cobblers.
prove to me that every irish company is running bent.
i will admit,some are…not all though.
i know companies thats are all above board.
you are stereotyping.
dont tell me that every english haulier is straight either.
i know of a few that totally ignore the rules,so it shouldnt be just for the irish…that is victimisation.
Don’t know about southern irish companies but a lot of Northern Irish companies get accused of running bent.
Maybe is some truth in that with some companies, but the anytime i driven for a Northern Irish company been wanting everything legit (well maybe apart from the speed limiter), because the company don’t need the hassle.
If your driving a NI truck the chances of getting pulled by VOSA are much higher than driving for a mainland company. if you have a UK driving licence you will get hammered if caught.
Only times ive been pulled by VOSA have been in NI trucks, dashboard ripped taken apart looking for a wire and all that kinda stuff.
Some of the worst offenders for running bent ive seen are working for large UK companies doing agency. Do a day shift, get finished early on the phone to another agency looking for a nightshift or working everyday of the week espec in the run up to xmass when agencies are desperate for staff.
My mate he was down at Liverpool picking up a trailer in a NI motor he avoided switch island, wasnt goign anything wrong but just didnt face getting a gestapo type intergation for an hour. He picked up his trailer and got pulled outside P&O i think it was.
NOT ALL THE IRISH TRUCKS RUN BENT ,HAVE TO CONTRADICT YOU THERE,DON’T TAR US ALL WITH THE ONE STICK.
VOSA THINK THE IRISH ARE AN EASY TARGET.ALOT OF IRISH COMPANIES HAVE 06/07/08 VEHICLES ON THE ROAD…
Vosa know everybody.

ya right lad.
and you know us all do you■■?
can you say every haulage company in the uk runs legal
i know many companies do(and well done to them) but there are plenty who do not
why do the have the “IN THE COURTS” section in the trucking mags■■?
cop yourself on and don’t be talking rubbish
