Well, here’s the latest we’ve heard here in the US:
Brown & Root, the Haliburton subsidiary, has been offering better than $1000/day for experienced drivers, but has been finding few takers. For the last 3 or 4 months, nearly every single convoy has come under assault, and somebody is injured on each and every trip, with a driver being either killed or captured and later murdered every other trip. The average life expectancy for a B&R tanker driver is 2 months. They also forbid drivers from being armed while working. As a result, they have been finding few interested drivers.
In the last month or so, they’ve found a new way of getting drivers: people who were once transportation drivers and have been discharged have been called back. Some of them were give their separation papers 8 years ago, and are in their 40’s, with families and businesses to take care of. Of course, they only pay them military wages (what, $500/month??), so this probably makes it an economical choice, despite all the lawsuits filed by now middle-aged drivers.
My dad used to work for Halliburton driving a desk in the UK . He was an accountant for them for 20 years, with over 30 years total experience in finance and banking and ended up being treated like ■■■■ by managers who knew nothing.
Halliburton/Brown and Root are a bunch of ■■■■■ no matter what you are doing for them.
What good is $1,000 a day when you come back in a body bag
I wouldn’t go there for a million a week, I can earn $1,000 a week driving around New England, and we don’t get shot at here (Newark excluded
)
I was offerd a job in Iraq by halliburton and they paid nothing like $1000 per day.
They paid $82500 per year and ypu worked for 4 months the 10days off. They paid the flights any where in the world as long as it didnt cost any more than $800.The life insurance was $150000.Got talked out of it by my wife.
the company i am going with is IAP WORLDWIDE SERVICES

I might be a wuss, but at least I wont be coming home in seperate bags
I dont have a lot of family left, but what I have I think it would be selfish to go and work there. of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion and everyone else is entitled to work where they like.
I worked in Romania when Ceaucescu was shot on Christmas Day & Yugoslavia when that kicked off, and that was like a kids party
talking of small planes…years ago on the truckline ferry…sometimes there were more trucks on board than room for drivers…so they used to fly us from france to the uk in a very small plane…had no choice really once your truck was on board…had to wait for it to dock before being re-united with it…good fun though.
have a nice day

I have to say the $150,000 would come in handy for the widow and kid’s
I believe that his mind is made up so in which case rather than making it harder I say once more I wish you all the luck in the world, I hope it works out for you Neil46.
Neil mate, having spoken to you today, I wish you all the best. If I didn’t have a responsibility here in the shape of a lady I love dearly, I would be joining you. We discussed it after I spoke to you and after I decided no, she said she was pleased. That shocked me lolol
By the way, can you please name me as yer beneficiary if you cop it ■■?
