Introducing 'Bob'

100 posts about Bob.

101 now , way to go Bob ,
,
ps.
did you get a capacino or an expresso to go ?

I’d rather sit and wait for you to buy a beverage than sit and wait for Luke to fill up his 1600L death star…

Just saying!

I think `Bob’ was giving you the goodbye salute pal ,  have a nice day an all that :sunglasses: :grimacing:
Next time, get the fok off the pumps and stop doing your shopping when theres others waiting .

If this story is actually true that is …

I have met Bob' , and a jolly nice fellow he is ... and I am sure he would have every right in being allowed to challenge your poor behaviour and to express his views (politely) if someone was being a nob-jockey. Well done Bob’

Hang on

The driver pulls on to pump and puts fuel in. Then makes his way to pay for said fuel. Whilst in there he goes to the coffee mechine and makes himself a coffee and then makes his way to the checkout to join the queue to pay for fuel and coffee (He is doing what others would be doing) He then returns to see Bob the ■■■■■■■ giving him abuse because he wants to get on the pump.

Your telling the OP he should pay for fuel and move the truck, park up, and then return back to the garage to buy his coffee? sorry but i cannot see you doing that.

What have I learnt in this thread?

I posted this because I thought that most people would find it laughable that a driver could get so angry over being delayed for 5 minutes that they wish death upon another driver and try to provoke a violent confrontation.

Well, it seems that most of the drivers here are exactly the same…what a sad state of affairs.

I am pleased that I have learnt to worry about the things worth worrying about, and not to get stressed over such trivial things.
Anybody that gets that wound up over such a meaningless matter seriously needs to have a long hard look at themselves and their life.

Trust me, there are far more important things to stress over.

Well DonutUK, you hit the thread jackpot with this one (it’s a good job you didn’t post Bob’s Registration Plate).

I absolutely agree that life is too short to worry about five minutes on the pump, and I don’t particularly like self appointed, self righteous guardians of our Industry who enjoy telling anyone who’ll listen

‘It wasn’t like this in my day’

The thing is though (and I’m surprised nobody else has mentioned it) occupying a pump space on a busy forecourt just to buy a brew, does show a lack of consideration for your fellow drivers who are patiently waiting to fuel up.

For sure, if the place is empty or other pumps are free go ahead but you must be able to see, it’s not the length of time that has annoyed Bob (and others on TNUK ) it’s the fact that you we’re prepared to hold them up rather than park out of the way to buy your brew.

One of the nicer things about our Industry is that occasionally drivers do show each other a little courtesy. There is no harm in trying to maintain the tradition, is there?

Wouldd you park out of the way if you was driving your own car?

if anybody’s got a memory like mine i would pull off and in the time i’d parked would forget all about paying for the diesel, then be in big bother

The op sounds like a knob-jockey to me!
BOBS COOL!

Talking of moving off the pump. I very rarely buy fuel for car or a truck at an MSA. Many years ago I was in the car and did need to do. Can’t remember which services.
Chap with a car in front of me finished fueling and jumped in it. I thought, oh decent chap he’s going to pull forward to let me on before he goes in to pay. Nope! He did one!! :open_mouth:

Couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Was so surprised didn’t get the reg. About £54 from memory - quite a lot then.

Put my fuel in, went to pay & told them. They didn’t seem particularly phased.

Come on BOB are you going to make it to 5 pages■■?

there’s a few garages now have signs up asking you pull forward after you have fueled up because of drivers going shopping. golden fleece at j42 m6 is bad for drivers having 15 min breaks on the pumps

They wouldnt, it happens a lot.

I worked in a petrol station for a bit and regularly got people coming in, putting £5 or £10 worth in and driving off without paying.

I always questioned the intelligence of these people.

If I was going to do it myself, I’d be filling it to the brim and making the most of my crime.

ates wife works in the local tesco fuel station and she says they get at least 5 drive offs a week

Hiya i worked at tesco’s just a temp through xmas…350 camera’s in the store and 5 on the pumps.

All theses car drivers driving away without paying, and yet it is us, with a slower getaway vehicle and often sign-written with contact details, that have to queue up twice to prove that we have the means to pay.

If I fuel up, I feel within my rights to use the facilities provided - I will use the loo and grab a coffee (usually starting the coffee machine off before paying so I can just pick it up on the way out). I will pull forward from the pump if space allows, and will not sit at a table having a break as I have seen others do, but will not feel guilty for getting a coffee.

BOB

Good ol bob

Hardly surprising really. Fuel is about the most expensive commodity supermarkets stock nowadays!

bump.

I wonder if Bob has been reading these posts ?

bob would of been nocked out

Bob is having a blob as we speak
