I have an assessment drive tomorrow for Brakes in Highbridge, Somerset.

Its not really a driving job is it  its more like a mobile shop ,i saw one of their blokes on friday in bradford ,fair play to um its propper graft :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Well i drive a 26 ton to portsmouth at 52mph, which takes 2 hours 30 min to get there, and do multidrops, if thats not driving what is? lol

That’s locals lol

I work for brakes in the south west and we only get 26k which is pretty poor if your getting 26k up north.

I do the logistics side no picking at all just full cages of food to pubs, yes it is hard graft but you soon get used to it, and you will never have to join a gym again lol.

Well good luck with the job mate, if you decide to take it.

Hmmmm i’d say your comment is pretty poor.

It’s not as poor as sitting out, and staying on the dole.

What ever you do ,dont say they are a bit like mobile shops either :unamused: :unamused:

I think this is a nationwide recruitment drive.

There’s a big poster on the fence @ aylesford saying “now recruiting multidrop class 2 drivers - CPC training provided”.

Yes they are also advertising for the newly built depot in Warrington on the old burtonwood airbase.
£27,450 and for 45 hrs a week.
Not too shabby if it’s only 45hr at that money really.

Yes its a 45 hour week average over 17 weeks as far as I’m aware.
26k is a fare Amount as far as Im concerned.

Well I lasted 6 weeks there. Not the job for me Im afraid. Had aching joints and back since doing it, its very strenous work. The money is good but you bloody work hard for it. Back on class 1 for me, prefer sitting on my arse while someone else unloads/loads me!

Oldboy NDF:
Went out yesterday with a driver who has worked there for 9 years, he said the new contract comes into force on the 15th of sept and they have all had the new contracts. They have also been working mon to fri for ages. Job seems ok will take a while to get used to the runs but after that im sure it will be fine, i start a week on monday.
The run i did yesterday was Leeds center, the lad knew it like the back of his hand and we were done for 2 pm.

Have you started with them? How is the program looks like? Is it 45 hours like you were told at the interview?
Cheers

You haven’t been to Thetford on nights yet then.
