Surely it matters not which side of the device you’re on, surely everybody must now be sick to the back teeth with the shower if dog feaces that are ruining (not a typo…) the country. Apart from the sheer incompetence and arrogance of the likes of Johnson, Gove, Hunt, Grayling, Patel, Hancock (Christ, the list goes on…) Harding… , when will the people, on all sides off the devide, say ‘enough is enough’. Every politician, on every side of the house, is now so obviously engaged I a game of ‘let’s see how far we can push them’, that it is becoming mind bending.
Johnson has such a list of failed projects and broken promises that the notion of him coming out and telling us something or other as the Prime Minister has now become not only laughable, but actually bordering on contempt for the voters. Just look at his wry smile when he brings out another new phrase, you can see the contempt dripping of him. He doesnt believe any of it (he used to be pro Europe), but hes just playing with you , like a cat plays with a mouse.
The trouble is ND, you obviously don’t believe everything you read on Facebook. There will be plenty of people along to tell you that Johnson is a gem.
There were even people on here who said they would happily share a pint with him.
I said Johnson was a liar on here, and that clown in the flour tanker ripped me off a strip about it, (mind you this week he is anti politician, and pro Peter Hitchens (!) so he may have changed his mind)…
the nodding donkey:

The competence of these clowns was very well known this time last year when they won an 80 seat majority. The country gets the government it deserves.
the nodding donkey:
This is not a remoaner whinge.
Yes it is!
You didnt read my post then? I lament the incompetence and contempt of the government, without tying it to the debate about brexit.
For what it’s worth, as I can see both the pros and cons of both independence and the European Union, I’m really split on which way to go. My gut instinct says ‘beter the devil you know’ , aswel as the fact that you are beter of in a group, with more power and influence, but I can also see the appalling way in which the EU is run. As it is, for better or worse, the country has chosen to leave the Union. That being, my opinion is that we should go for a hard, no deal brexit, because telling the EU to go stuff itself, and then expecting them to give us a good deal, is lunacy.

Oh absolutely. Just like the fools in the North and the Midlands, who thought that Boris was going to look after them…
I appreciate that they were between a rock and a hard place mind. Boris or Jeremy… I’d have spoilt my ballot. (Being a bloody foreigner, I’m not allowed to vote in the general election. Local yes, but not national. Even when I’ve paid my tax here for nearly thirty years. Whilst those who’ve buggered of to the other side of the world, can still vote what happens here)
You could write that post, and leave out the names, then look back and replace them with every Govt Cabinet that has been in power for the last God knows how many years.
They are/were all liars, in it primarily for their own ends, and willing to run with the hares and the hounds whichever group is going to give them votes.
It’s how the UK Government system has rolled for as long as I can remember at least.
Just some are little worse or better than others.
So nothing new here, let them get on with it, absolutely Jack all you or me can do about it other than vote another shower of ■■■■ in, to do things the same way.
I mean what’s the alternative here…Labour?
In the words of Roger Daltrey …‘‘Meet the new Boss, same as the old Boss’’.
I’ve come to the conclusion that the only reason anyone wants to be PM is for the “made for life” perks afterwards such as dinner speaking and connections to other former international leaders.
Same with US president and probably every other top office out there. Its a hell of a stressful job, you’ll never be popular, buck stops with you and really not that well paid (maybe except the US one).
Original op woupd make a good politician - this us not a remoaner rant, then goes on a thinly disguised remoaner rant.
Really not sure what this has to do with trucks through, more a Bullys post.
the nodding donkey:
Johnson has such a list of failed projects and broken promises
Boris Johnson repealed the Swedish Derogation of the Agency Workers Regulations and set holiday pay to be calculated as an average of 12 months, not the 12 weeks it was which benefitted loads of agency workers, myself included. That cop out agencies could use to get around having to pay parity pay cost me about £10,000 a year for several years. For those who took their holidays near the end of the quiet time of the year they saw a weeks holiday pay slashed by £100s.

So thanks for the 34% wage rise Boris.
Thank you Boris? What?
The derogation (the loophole that you rightly celebrate the end of) was introduced by the 2010 Parliament of Cameron. There should have no derogation at all in many people’s opinions.
There was an early day motion condemning it in 2018, signed by 70 MPs. Of them, one was a Conservative and it wasn’t Johnson. (Well done Peter Bottomley).
That followed the 2017 Taylor Review of Working Practices.
Giving credit to Johnson for something started long before his tenure is somewhat misplaced, IMHO.

Details. Always getting bogged down in pedantic details. Praise where praise is due. Well done Boris. If there’s any credit or gratitude to be given out, it’ll end up on Boris’s desk. That’s the way it works.

Hmmm, the “Livingstone cycle scheme” doesn’t have the ring of a “Boris *bike,” I must admit.
.
.
*no derogatory comment against anyone intended.
I live in the midlands( voted remain ) & voted for the tories as even though I’ve voted labour all my life I just could stomach steptoe , Diane Abbott , Emily thorn berry etc
I don’t expect anything from Boris or the tories, to be honest I’ve no real interest in politics , I find football , cider & women more interesting
I suggest the op gets out & about a bit more

Like I said, with the given options, I would have spoiled my ballot… I agree with you ( ) that voting for Jeremy and Diane was unthinkable. But to substitute Boris… ye gods, frying pan, meet fire…

Sorry to bring this up again, and it is not an elected MP, and this isn`t policy, but Hannan has been recently become one of the “inconsequential nobodies” thanks to Johnson, and it is clear how some are thinking before the ink is even dry on the current deal, and talks in other areas are ongoing:
"Hannan used a website article to call for the ditching of:
The Temporary Workers’ Directive: This guarantees agency staff receive equal pay and conditions with employees in the same business." theneweuropean.co.uk/brexit … es-6888862
Also calling for ditching EU rules on GM foods, data protection, etc.
I think the current situation is an impossible one for any PM. You have half the country demanding lockdowns to protect people and the other half demanding we be let out coz they miss the pubs and Benidorm. Throw in a few micro chips in the vaccine conspiracies and you’re left with an unhappy populace. Even if a particular group gets what they want it won’t really be what they want because more lockdown = less drinking down the boozer and less lockdown = more deaths. Lose lose old boy.
500 people breaking into a church to have a rave doesn’t help either. The amount of parties raided on NYE was ridiculous. Our attitude towards this disease hasn’t helped things. It’s not often I agree with the Pope but he said all we’re interested in is pubs and holidays.
And to all the clowns out there suggesting Keir Starmer would do any better. Well, that’s just laughable. Just as when they said he’d get a better Brexit deal.
The Tories aren’t perfect by any stretch but the alternative is terrifying. Unless you think a team with Diane Abbott and a bunch of communists would serve us better.

Please nobody tell us corbyn and co would of dealt with the issues better!
Although, it would of been comedy gold listening to him and abbott explaining the relevant issues of the day.
Talk about thick as mince. Starmer ■■■■■■■ into the tent like many others at this time of crisis are a disgrace. If ever there was a time to not score political points and adopt a pragmatic view to the challenges that face us, it is now. The sheer unadulterated joy that the power of devolution has given jimmy kranky and the trotsky taff shows through everytime they impose ever more stricter rules on their poor countrymen.
