Infringements on my digi card

My card gets downloaded at the end of each shift as a driver debrief.
I work for a big company “New Look” and its the transport manager who tells me the information.

On the download software, I can see on the screen that there is a red box
Which shows infrignments. After 28 days the infrignment had disappeared!

So whats what then?? Lol

A setting in the software that removes a flag for some reason after 28 days. It would make more sense for it to be removed after 6 months because that is the time bar on driver’s hours offences but 28 days must be what teh people who wrote that software decided. None of that is anything to do with what is on your card, that’s just the software on the computer.

Next time your card is in a VU go into the menu and select either printout for Driver 1 or display for driver 1. Then use the down arrow to scroll back through all the days that are on your card and see how far back you can go. It will be more than 28 days, a lot more and if it’s not a recently issued card it could go back 10 or 11 months, or even more. My current card was valid from the 1st July last year and every day I have worked since then, 5 days a week, is still on there and my card is downloaded either at the end of the shift, if I can be arsed going into the office, or at the start of the next shift if I can’t.

The good news is there isn’t a problem with your card so no need to replace it. As I suspected it was a problem with you. :stuck_out_tongue:

As an afterthought to all this display and print nonsense. I have often thought that the default setting in the VU menu should be display first, and then we have to hunt for printout, as I have and many others have no doubt hit print by mistake when you just want to see the display.

When the card is downloaded the data is stored in a database, each time the card is downloaded the software checks to see what has already been downloaded and only stores in the database the data that has not previously been stored in the database.

During the download nothing is wiped from your card the data is copied to the computer but still remains on the driver card.

If you were to scroll back through the dates on the computer software you would find that the infringements are still stored in the database but the software will not show infringements over 28 days, it’s just the way the software works and has nothing to do with what data is still on the card.

So if company stores all information in database and infringements stays for ever or? Today I had my second infringement ( working longer then 6hours… by 1 minute) and my first infringement was almost 3 months ago… does that mean my infringements will stay in database for ever■■?

As long as you work for the same company, and as long as the company use the same analysis software/company the infringements are likely to remain on the record.

But after a few months most companies wouldn’t be interested so I wouldn’t worry about it.
