The job is good it’s how they treat you from above that’s the problem.
Top managment don’t care about you or your life, and that is from experience
Totally Agree

The bonuses r all but gone. Only a £15 a day meal allowance. This helps when u get your holiday pay. But is not so good if you pay the csa.
How the ■■■■ are Stobarts responsible for where you choose to dip your wick years ago? What do you expect a large PLC to do, pay cash under the table?

Maybe not in the past ,but it’s certainely becomming a big issue these days ,split families ,csa etc ,we all spend time moaning about dcpc course and the lack of content ,so perhaps family planning could be part of it ,and as all esl drivers carry accident packs ,maybe a packet of condoms within this pack wouldn’t be a bad idea ,times move on ,esl need too move with the times
Del Trotter u misunderstood. Bonus payments dont count as your annual income, because u don’t get them all the time. So when the csa ask for your annual wage, Stobarts won’t add any bonus or meal allowance onto what u earn. So u pay less yo the ■■■■■ who has already ripped u off in the divorce courts.
My apologies, mis-understood luckily I have never had to deal with the CSA.

I was told by a Gear Bear driver that Stobarts in Newark were looking for drivers, can’t seem to find anything on it.
From reading the letter I’ve just recieved I think there going too have too many drivers already without taking anymore on ,it states on the new contract ( only work I know of ) that they will have 25 trucks on it ,there’s 51 drivers ,10 will be trampers ,shifts will be mon-fri ,so after taking the trampers and there trucks out the equation that’s 15 trucks for 41 drivers ,there saying days only ,but even if it’s days / nights I can’t see how it can work ,too many drivers or not enough trucks ,I think they’ve jumped the gun with this no drivers too be made redundant ,what ever I can’t see how they’d want more drivers unless we’re all going too do about 4/6 runs .
N.b if your after a job with stobarts the depot boss at Lutterworth rings me on a daily basis asking me too transfer ,I can put your name forward if you like ,50 miles is too far for me but you can have a couple of nights out on livingstone if it helps

Regardless of the knockers on here Stobarts aren’t that bad to work for. I was there and got made redundant along with quite a few other trampers. There are many worse companies to work for. I generally cleared 2k a month (take home) for average 57 - 62 hours per week. Holidays are the downfall because you lose the bonuses.
What is the deal with trampers at Stobbies, I heard that they get you to sometimes stay in a hotel so your truck can be used by a night driver.
This is something I queried when they asked me too go tramping out of rugby / sher burn ,and according too the bloke I spoke too about it ,it can and does happen but he couldn’t tell me how often ,rugby wouldn’t of been a issue if my relative who lives there didn’t chain smoke ,as she said she wouldn’t mind me kip ping there as she’s on her own and it would be nice too have some company ,but the house just stinks of ■■■■ ,everything is nigati new stained
,I don’t smoke so I struggle after a hour ,never mind a night
