Indicators

What about when cars are turning right on an island in the left hand lane of an island, when the roundabout is NOT marked for such a manoeuvre…■■? :open_mouth:

Correct use of indicators on roundabouts is almost a thing of the past.

Correct use of roundabouts is almost a thing of the past! Not helped by multi-lane roundabouts with either no road markings at all, or seriously confusing ones with multiple cris-crossing white lines.

To all those that are saying ’ Why should I give a signal/Why would you expect me to give a signal’ and ’ I expect you to move over into lane 2,to let me out’…Have you people ever read the highway code ■■?
YOU are part of the problem, you fools !
Also, when I used to move over on the motorway/trunk roads,to let people out, only for them to hang you out and pull away from you, making you look like the idiot…Well now I don’t let anybody push their way out ! Some of them start blowing their horn at you and some nearly crash, before they finally get the message. Learn how to damned well drive properly, you morons !

I think that I need to get myself a main battle tank as my daily driver…see if they get the message then,eh ■■

Have I got you wrong here? Or does your rule of letting nobody out apply to trucks joining a Mway that are signalling to join it? Do you just block them in.? :open_mouth:
If I am joining a M way and signalling, yeh I expect a fellow driver to let me in (as it always was) and when he does there is no way in hell I will speed up and keep him in lane 2…as I aint a complete [zb] !

We have all been left hanging by some [zb] who has not got a second to spare in his crap over pushed job, so he just speeds up rather than let you back in.
I still pull over to let trucks out though, I reckon if you don’t you are just as bad as the ones that have ■■■■■■ you off, so you have taken to driving by their example and yet another ■■■■ poor driver joins their ranks. :open_mouth:

Best just to raise above it I reckon and continue to drive in a proper manner, it prevents it from becoming a state of more useless [zb] s than proper drivers.

So,you are implying that it’s my fault, because other drivers (including so called ‘professionals’) don’t know how to drive correctly ■■
I assess each encounter on its merits…Nowadays, I always look to see if I have the advantage. I call it driving defensively. Some may not like it,but that’s just too bad !
I do it to car drivers,in an effort to teach them to do it properly…some of the idiots think that they’re on a bloody race track and that they’re invincible.
As for the so called professionals…twice in the past couple of weeks,I’ve moved over to let another truck in,only for the moron to speed up,right onto the limiter (one of which, matched my limiter exactly) and just sit there, like a rolling road block ! The only way to deal with these fools,is to run them up the back of something else…to force them to ‘do the right thing’ ! The other was just a bit quicker than me and just drove away, leaving me out in the middle lane…no manners whatsoever, see !
So,yes,I will do it to other truck drivers…depends on how the situation reads at the time…
The standard of driving these days is appalling…and getting worse…so now I take no prisoners, simple!

But on the other hand, I still see examples of unnecessary courtesy which always amuse me. For example, I’m coming down a slip road in the wee hours, and in my mirror I see a speck of light in the far distance, about half a mile back. I’ll just make out it’s an HGV, and surely enough, flash-flash.

It warms my heart and all, but it doesn’t stop me trying to perfect my technique of blipping my indicators sarcastically.

I missed the sarcasm that far back… Will try to catch you up next time so I catch the full force

You definitely have issues mate, are you sure you are in the right job?
You will end up killing somebody one day with an attitude such as yours.
Reacting to appalling driving by displaying more appalling driving yourself is not the answer.
How is ‘running somebody up the back of something else’ defensive driving ffs.
We all encounter the scenarios you mention, but most of us just raise above it, with admittedly a bit of anger, but not to the point of potentially causing an RTA.

Yes, I have ‘issues’…with other people not driving properly ! ‘Am I in the right job ?’…Well,I’ve only been in the world of road haulage for 45 years…42 of those involved driving…and running my own haulage business. I suppose you’re perfect, are you ■■
As for ‘running somebody up the back of something else’…do you even know what I mean ■■ Not the remotest chance of causing an rta…unless they refuse to get off the limiter…
So please don’t try to lecture me…been doing the job for far too long…

Well that makes things worse if a man of your experience carries on like some kind of aggressive self appointed traffic marshall …‘teaching people lessons’ :unamused: instead of after all those years of exp, just dealing with it by shaking your head, getting a bit miffed, but just cracking on safe in the knowledge that you are a better driver.

As for me being perfect…far from it mate, I just don’t intend to have my first heart attack related to getting as wound up with other’s crap driving to the extent that you do, I just get on with it.

As for your 45 years, is that meant to impress me? I aint that far behind you, and I’ve done everything that you have done, and maybe more, who knows…who ■■■■ cares, it aint a ■■■■■■■ contest, it’s irrelevent anyway, the point is a man of your experience should not be ‘running people into the back of others’… you can back pedal on it as much as you like mate, but to most of us that only means one thing, aggressive driving by using your truck to enforce other road users into a situation.

I agree whole heartedly with Jayen4. He’s been on the job for far too long. F*****g menace on the roads.

Hahaaa…
No ‘■■■■■■■ contests’,no backpedalling,no excuses…just saying it how it is!..and I won’t be having an heart attack…they don’t get me wound up that much !
If these idiots want to do stupid things around me,they are likely to pay the price…simples.

As for being a ‘menace’…oh I can be when I want ! Old banger and stock car racer here ! So,I know how to ‘turn it on’ when required…
Enough said…

nice attitude

,no backpedalling,

:open_mouth: Yeh?? … You’re back pedalling faster than a clown on a unicycle mate. :unamused:

I notice you still haven’t clarified to us what ‘‘running somebody up the back of something else’’ means, when you are ‘‘teaching your lessons’’ seeing as I supposedly got it wrong. :unamused:

Are you a bit dim mate or what?
I’ve asked you 3 times to clarify what you meant by …quote:.‘’ running somebody up the back of something else’’ but instead you choose to respond by attempting smart arse answers.
My interpretation, (and am confident most others on here) would take it as just that…‘running somebody up the back of something else’ :bulb:
aka Dangerous Driving.
If you think of a way of damage limitation, by positive spinning it to avoid yourself coming across as nothing more than an agressive ■■■■ in a truck, who goes around self righteouslly ‘teaching people lessons’ :unamused: , (as you already have btw) do come back and let us know.

‘‘Let me know when you’ve had a think’’

Well…seeing as you’ve already made your mind up as to ‘what I mean’…and you’re being a smart arse,I shall not explain further ! So…jog on…

End of.

Classic cop out mate. :unamused:
Explain further? …you have explained ■■■■ all.

I just hope that the next time you…‘’ run somebody up the back of somebody else to teach them a lesson’’ that it does not have dire consequences, along the lines of that young mother and her family killed due to the actions of that ■■■■ whit on his phone on the A34.

You have proven that it is not just young inexperienced drivers, the likes of Trucker Jay that should not be on the road for everybody’s good, but guys like you of 40+ years exp :open_mouth: who should quite frankly know better. :bulb:

End of.

Am I missing something here ?
Are they becoming obsolete ?
Cars indicating left when turning right on islands ?
Nobody indicates when joining motorways ?
I’m sure they’re still a requirement in the Highway Code ?
Has the law changed ?
#confused.co.uk#

i came down the m6 today south bound ,came off at 20 for Lymm ,waited in the left lane at the roundabout ,a Downtons artic comes from Warrington over the m6 in the right hand lane and is indicating right ,so off I go ,gets to exit on to the A50 and Downtons man is along side me on my right giving it some large , he declined to get out the cab but maintains he was correct to be in the right lane and correct to be indicating right too ,so after my break I went round the loop over the m6 just make sure that the thousands of times I’ve been on there I’d not missed something .

Don’t worry about it Dan. That was my mate Marcusz Flipflopski out of Preston Brook.

He has tourettes syndrome and is also very upset about Brexit. Take no notice pal.
