If you can remember 1975 why would anyone think that the out campaign, wouldn’t be subject now,to the same comically biased Stalinist in campaign establishment controlled media blitz against it,as it was then. The key will be for the electorate this time to realise the stakes for future generations and see through it.If not saying that the sacrifices made by the WW2 generation will have been for nothing, will be an understatement.
Dolph:
It’s also curious can and will the UK Government control its borders and benefits to immigrants post Brexit?
Last year the French interior ministry rubbished the idea promoted by Cameron today that France might tear up their agreement with Britain on border controls if we left the EU. Bernard Cazeneuve, French Interior Minister said:
“Calling for the border with the English to be opened is not a responsible solution. It would send a signal to people smugglers and would lead migrants to flow to Calais in far greater numbers. A humanitarian disaster would ensue. It is a foolhardy path, and one the government will not pursue. On the contrary, we’re going to make the border even more watertight to dissuade smugglers and migrants, respect international rules and reduce the pressure on Calais.”
G8YMW:
The fact of the matter is that there are only 2 countries that (nett) pay in to the EU, Germany and Britain.
There are actually nine countries that are NETT contributors to the EU:
Germany, UK, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Sweden, Austria, Denmark and Finland - in that order, although Germany, France and the UK pay more Nett than the rest put together.
And the five who are the biggest NETT recipients from the EU are:
Poland, Greece, Hungary, Portugal and Romania - with Poland receiving more than double the amount of the next.

The Polish former deputy prime minister Leszek Balcerowicz said Britain would be used as example. “We should not encourage other populist forces campaigning on exit such as National Front in France or Podemos in Spain. This is a very important consideration.
…
This is in the interests of Europe that we do not encourage other EU countries to leave. The common interest of remaining members is to deter other exits. This should have an impact on the terms Britain gets.”heres what the present polish gov thinks :
""The European Union may collapse if Britain leaves, the Polish president has warned, as he called for a “cautious compromise” on David Cameron’s demands for reform.
“It is not in Poland’s interest that the UK leaves the European Union. We think it would lead to a big crisis and even a collapse if the UK left,” said Andrzej Duda, who took office in August. “”heres what the dutch and french think :
""EU could go UNDER in 6 WEEKS, Dutch PM claims as France admits ‘we weren’t built for this’
THE Dutch prime minister said the future of the European Union could be decided in just six weeks if the bloc doesn’t get a handle on the migrant crisis, as panicking France begs Britain to stay in the union.“”
This is the simple problem that the EU administrators have. If they give any kind of concession to any country then it will be seen as a green light to the rest. Their treatment of a basket case like Greece illustrated their intentions but the possibility of a nett contributor leaving would be tantamount to blowing a huge hole in the dam. Should we vote to leave Denmark and Austria would be banging on the EU’s door immediately, followed quickly by The Netherlands and Sweden. That’s five of the nine nett payers demanding action within weeks and the rest unable to fill the void.

The question is what’s stopping France and the UK implementing a policy of summary repatriation/deportation regardless of whether they are in France or they’ve got here. The real problem being that the immigrants know that if they can get into Europe and here by whatever means all of the bs EU human rights legislation supported by Merkel and the French Socialist backed government and its Socialist allies here and Cameron’s cheap labour agenda will all kick in to let them stay.In just the same way as when the Brit navy ‘rescues’ the immigrants from the Mediterranean it brings them to Europe it doesn’t dump them back on the shores of Africa or Asia where they came from.
On that note Cameron’s show and pretence of supposedly keeping illegal immmigrants ‘out’ of the UK is as clear as his pretence of ‘negotiating’ a ‘better’ deal from an obvious position of,in reality, being Merkel’s pro immigration pro EU UK Federal/ist agent.
my solution to post brexit , and im pretty confident ill be President of England by then , is to have a 3 month State of National Emergency .
first thing to do is mobilise the army to back up police and border people .
everyone would need to carry some form of ID for this period .
then declare that only citizens of countries with land borders with England can claim asylum . all previous asylum permits are null and void and holders of have 6 weeks to get the hell out . anyone supplying work or accommodation to these people will get 10years prison after 6 weeks grace period . everybody checked at stations , public places , school or work and cannot prove they are English or with valid visa will be deported to their original country . if they refuse to state where they come from they can choose Bangladesh or Eritrea as both countries accept deportees if English Gov gives em cash .
all members of ex soviet countries will have 3 months to leave on the same system as asylum . if they have a specialist job they must return to own country and apply for a visa from there .
all other members of EU ( french , spanish dutch etc ) are welcome to stay so long as their country signs a reciprocal arrangement for English .
if skills shortage becomes acute in a professional sector (doctors perhaps)
then visas can be granted ,but with no preference for white people ,and for a reasonable period . this can never be converted to citizenship .
the only way to become an english citizen is through birth from english parents , or marrying an english citizen .
anyone found here illegally after state of emergency period will just be deported to Eritrea or Bangladesh direct , and can walk home from there .

In 1975 my main concerns were getting home in time to watch Blue Peter and getting through my forthcoming eleven plus so I wouldn’t have to get kicked to death and some thicko’s school should I fail.
I don’t remember anything much of current affairs beyond my Gran getting me to watch Crown Court after Out of Town, and my Mum sitting me in front of Pebble Mill at One should I decide to go home for lunch.
My younger brother was released for lunch before me though, and that meant I always missed Pitkins. Dammit. There’s a long term PTSD, ADHD, and PSSTKNG disorders kid right there.

Surprised? I’m not when most of the media, “mainstream” politicians and others is positions of influence are Europhiles.
When Europhiles become as socially unacceptable as paedophiles - we might finally be getting somewhere we want to go in this country.
It’s not enough that our elites don’t want us to leave - they are prepared to spend OUR money on their brain-washing doctrine to try and get us to vote the wrong way, and deny the truth being reported in the media to such an extent that we’re just about ready to rig up a Guillotine in Whitehall. “For lies against the people and acting against the common good…” - you can write that on the basket.
Every time the media wants to cover something up - we get overdosed with some bull story from Syria. Note there’s no news out of Turkey when their should be…
All arguments regarding ISIS trading oil with the Turkish government are not being investigated - let alone taken seriously.
I reckon that if we’re not prepared to mediate in the region instead of take the wrong sides - we should just get out altogether, and let them all thrash it out among themselves.
Let’s go home, stay home, and pull up the drawbridge. There won’t be any camps in Kent if we’ve removed Cameron within hours of getting the result that rouses the people - that would be EITHER result right now.
“Stay In” wins? - There will be riots.
“Leave” wins? - there will be panic with those illegal immigrants already in transit - re-doubling their efforts.
The government really needs to have a contingency plan in place for EITHER result - “Wait and see” just won’t do this time around.
The only way to ever going to deal with this illegal migration is to stop the people smugglers. The answer to it is simple really, although it will possibly require UN approval. Penalty? Instant death on sight. About a week ago the ITN news reporter from the Med/Aegean was pointing out a smugglers boat returning empty in the dark. A few well aimed rounds of 40mm at that point would have been in order.
It can’t be done. Politics can only solve problems that have not happened yet. War solves those problems that are already manifest…
“Diplomacy has failed”.
Maybe if they stopped fighting each other over ‘‘fairy tale’’ books and politics about who owns what herd of sheep and where then they wouldn’t need to move, flee emigrate to a so called ‘‘safer’’ country and the Money which is now wasted could be used to improve\develop their own country\region.

It’s not totally that clear cut, there are other politicians in France who’d like the border moved back to Dover and have made their views public, Cameron has jumped on this, in a bit of a panic I think. But the treaty between is not an EU one but between UK and France. Any removal wouldn’t happen just because the UK left the EU, but would depend on the political backlash on the UK leaving.

I agree, there is a lot of concern in many Western European Countries over EU policy, it’s mostly from those affected by the policy of free movement which has allowed cheap labour to take their jobs and move into their towns and cities and now the flood of immigrants coming in from Africa and the Middle East has increased this dissatisfaction. Although it has reached nowhere near the level of the UK, I think a UK exit will galvanise those who want their own country’s exit, or at least a very different EU, into action.

The ‘people smugglers’ are only taking advantage of the real issue which is simply that of the immigrants know that if they can get in they can stay because the pro immigration agenda won’t allow the repatriation word.On that note you can obviously add the Brit Navy to list of those helping to bring the immigrant invasion in.

It was my Gran (Bless her!) that got me interested in politics, current affairs, and gambling btw. My own parents have been hardline LibDem voters for years, and switched to Tory in 2015, voting for Crouch. I commented to my Dad that I was surprised he wasn’t put off voting for an adulteress, knowing his old-fashioned tendencies like I do…
My dad voted UKIP in the MEP elections though, so has a track record of “being like Basildon” in that regard.
My first vote was for David Owen in 1987, me not being quite old enough to vote in the 1983 election. At that time everyone else around me was voting that way as well. in 1992 I didn’t vote. I declared that “The Tories don’t have enough opposition in Kinnock to be ousted”. With Labour odds-on 1/5 at the bookies to win - several people bet me a tenner each that they would win… I was giving even money. Did alright out of that I did - despite not actually voting.

Just as now I’d like to see the forlorn hope of a Fox/Davis/Farage/ co alition.I lost interest in the whole political set up when it was obvious that there was never going to be any hope of a Shore and Powell led co alition instead of dumb and dumber Callaghan and then Thatcher.Having said that I’d put the odds on a successful out campaign a bit higher this time so maybe there’s the outside chance of at least the former alliance winning out.
Except unlike the latter in the case of Shore we’ll still sadly end up crippled by being ideologically tied to the failed ideas of ‘free market economics’ which are totally inconsistent with the Fordist model we need.
This is interesting: Michael Crick, of C4* (nearly as pro EU biased as the BBC), reckons he has enough to call in the police on alleged Tory by-election overspends while fighting UKIP in Clacton and Rochester? It’s a possibility that UKIP may have had the Tories rattled enough that they overstepped the law more than ‘acceptable’.
Bearing this in mind it’s also possible that the BBC election programs at the time could be looked at, as every day it seemed they were being fed yet another UKIP scandal, most of them involving ex Tory councillors and ex Tory party workers. Someone was supplying the BBC’s anti UKIP addiction and that someone had access to confidential details of ex Tories.
Of course, if this goes to the Electoral Commission, Jenny Watson, the supercilious lefty incompetent waste of space in charge will only chase this up if it’s politically expedient, especially as the Home Secretary will have to authorise an investigation - Dave’s mate Theresa May!
*Curious that Crick’s indignation at financial secrecy and the lavish overspending of sinister cash rich concerns with questionable political motives surfaces only shortly after he . . . erm . . . left the BBC, after many long, happy years.
