I’m on at Yodel as well, although out of Wednesbury.
Got to say I have found them spot on so far. Work is easy, kit is decent…just wish I could a decent start time instead of mid mornings!
What happened to ROW
Got tired of being lied to about certain things…amongst other things.
Was thinking of applying for the pink brigade anything i should know, pm if you want
Be prepared to be lied to, lied about and unless you have a degree in manipulating ■■■■ orifices with your tongue, not one of the “in” crowd.
Could say a lot more but wouldn’t want to upset certain people who no doubt scour the internet looking for disparaging remarks about their company!
Shame really, because there are some really decent people working there…sadly they are in the minority and the know ■■■■ all’s are more highly thought of than experienced drivers simply because they blow smoke up the hierarchy’s arse.
Work was ok, only certain drivers were “allowed” to do the European work…and be prepared to be expected to cover the Rugby cement contract on Saturdays when they are short over there.
Units a bit cramped for a week away…but at least the new ones had fridges and microwaves. Bit underpowered for the work as well…

I had this problem at TsBoARst a while ago, I told them I was the captain of this ship and I decide when it gets into port and when it leaves.
I didn’t last long though
:lol::lol: I think there is a way you go about it, politely, but doing little things in the background to annoy them.

Bad planners boil my ■■■■. Whilst on the agency went into one firm for the day, they gave me the work, then said i had to wait for the night driver to come back as i was using that unit. Waited 30 mins, then had to diesel up, get the trailer and headed off to MK for my first drop. Told the office before i left i’d be late and why. Did the drop and rang in, the woman who answered asked for my arrival and departure times and then asked why i was late, as a delivery time is just that blah blah. Told her that her night driver was late back, i had to diesel up get the trailer then do my checks. All i got then was “well ring us when you’ve done your next one”. A month later back at the same place, job was trailer swap 2 hours away, take the full one to a mill in Banbury for 1pm. Got to the mill for 1pm, tipped by 2pmand rang the firm, said i needed a break, no problem they said, just head back after that. Then got a phone call at 3.30 asking why i was taking the ■■■■ as they needed the unit back at 2pm. Let them rant, then repeated the conversation i’d had with them after i tipped and nobody mentioned needing me back by 2pm, and as the vehicle was on tracker they knew where i was, and as it was a 1pm arrival, then a 30 min wait to tip how did they expect me to do a 2 hour journey in zero minutes? O, erm, “well how long will you be?” was their next question…They then argued about paying me the full hours i’d worked…refused to ever go back again.
zb Unbelievable , I mean what the hell has this job turned into when “planners” are exceeding authority like this?
The DRIVER is in charge of his truck, if ■■■■ hits the fan on the road he, not those dickwhits, are responsible, if he feels the need for a break for whatever valid reason then take one and tell them to go and ■■■■ themselves, end of! Their planning is based on theory, as most of them sure as hell will have no hands on practical experience of the job, so the plan should be used as a guideline not a life or death schedule.
The reason that they behave like this, and indeed get away with it, is because drivers with no balls or backbone allow them to… by their act of compliance with no resistance or complaint, being convinced that “They are lucky to be in a job” so they happily touch their toes
So until (some) driver’s attitudes change it will continue, if that is an old fashioned attitude, ok, I’m old fashioned.
edit; Just read Waynedl’s second post about getting an apology, I reckon this proves my point, challenge the ■■■■■■■■ and they back pedal…Result!
