There needs to be a firm message sent that we are not a soft touch to economic migrants,.just coming over Africa free for all gravy train experience.

That boat/barge jobby could be put to better use providing accommodation to indigenous homeless and needy people.

There’s one very obvious connection - 30 billion would keep all the migrants in the UK for 10 years. That just vanished into the hands of a few tories. Why moan about the cost of migrants and just shrug off the 30 billion? Doesn’t make sense. And obviously the barge wouldn’t be used for any indigenous homeless people - the home secretary just said she would take tents away from the homeless never mind provide a barge for them.

I dunno - maybe sending 50 royal navy boats out into the english channel every day and taking them back to France is an idea.Wonder how much that would cost tho. The other idea is process migrants faster instead of letting it build into a huge problem (because it’s politically advantageous to the tories - it’s the only vote winner they have at the minute). You process them in a fortnight, then you either send the buggers back or treat them as legal migrants. Why not? There’s 600,000 legal migrants coming every year anyway - why not add the 50,000 illegals? It’s a drop in the ocean.

Incidentally the government takes the money for housing illegals out of the overseas aid budget. So if every migrant vanished tomorrow you wouldn’t see a penny’s difference - it would just be spent in other countries instead.

My homeless people suggestion was just pointing out it could be put to better use, in a ‘charity begins at home’ context, as for the boats idea,. I’m fairly certain it would not cost 6 mill.a day,.and even if it did it would still be better spent, until they got the message…Foreign scroungers and criminals are not welcome in our country,.we have enough who are home grown as it is. :bulb:

The court unanimously rejected the government’s appeal against an earlier ruling that migrants could not be sent to Rwanda because it could not be considered a safe third country.

Mr Sunak said he would “finalise” a new treaty with Rwanda in light of the Supreme Court’s judgment and was “prepared to revisit domestic legal frameworks” if necessary.

Ever wondered why we have mass migration? It’s not a “left wing plot” or “woke”. It’s the same reason the EU introduced free movement of labout - because it keeps worker costs down for business owners. If you have 600,000 people coming every year that means “care” home owners can charge sick old people a grand a week and pay the people “caring” for them minimum wage. That’s the only reason we have mass migration. It keeps a few thousand rich people in clover. The rest of us have to put up with clogged schools, no housing, busier roads for the sake of a few thousand greedy people.

You missed my earlier post, clearly…

(1) Illegal Immigrants arriving here join other family members born British.
(2) The Born British (often 2nd generation immigrants) then claim for every “Adult Dependent” as they can.
(3) With or without these benefits - because our NHS is “Free at the point of sale” - no one is going to ask an illegal immigrant for ID or call the cops - should they turn up at Casualty wanting treatment, and unlike most people - they’ve got all day there to waste, getting in taxpayer’s way, and clogging up the Triage system, making lives a misery for millions around the country with extended waiting lists included.

The “Legal” migrants on the other hand - work and pay taxes.
Distill one from the other - and the job of the authorities becomes much clearer.

Oh, and LEAVE THE EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS as well, as it’s as fit-for-purpose as the UN was in stopping ANY terrorist outfit on the planet…

You could do that by stripping illegal immigrants of their “Right” to Legal Aid, which current UK-born Benefit claimaints - are apparently about to lose!

I’ve never heard of the illegal migrants coming to join family members in Britain - why couldn’t they just send them the price of an air fare? They have to come by dingy? How common is that? And how can you claim benefits for someone with no legal right to be in the country? Impossible. You would need to take their passport, proof of identity, proof of residencey. It’s not going to happen.

And what does “claim for dependants” mean? You mean people under 16? You can’t claim for other adults - they have to claim for themselves. And claiming for children you would need years proof of residency, what school they go to, their national insurance number etc. You think you just go down the dole office and say “I’ve another 6 kids give me some money”? Complete nonsense.

Legal migrants work and pay taxes? You think 600,000 people arrive every year and just walk straight into a job?

We have an ILLEGAL FORCE OF OCCUPATION and the sooner we all wake up to this fact the better. When Migrants ha ha try to cross from Turkey to Greece the Greeks are on hand in gun boats to encourage them to about turn.
