Ear plugs
Great to have if you’ve got >9 hours to sleep, but if you need to wake up in less than ~8 hours and need to rely on an alarm to get you up, earplugs are a sure fire way to wake up to bright sunlight and 50 missed calls on your phone!
Nope, never happened to me…
set your phone alarm to vibration, it’s worked dozens of times for me, and will be doing it tonight, come to think of it the technique works at home to as my Mrs can crack a good snore after the wine that beats the hell out of any fridge

Why would you want to switch a fridge off you dont know what its loaded with.Because you think it would be ok to switch it off and maybe cause £1000s of pounds worth being wasted. But we all know drivers only think about themselfs.Btw i pull a fridge and if someone switched it off think it may involve a punch on the chin.
so in a country with a total lack of parking for hgvs drivers are now that petty they would turn off another drivers fridge if he had to park next to you.
wow just wow, so you would risk losing a driver his job to me your no better than the pricks who would pull a pin or rob diesel etc.
How can a light sleeper even consider overnighting in a layby anyways?
When I approach one on near maxed-out driving time - I worry more if I can actually park for all the foreigners hogging the pull-ins, leaving only the “suicidal” type of laybys around to use.
Some compaines set their fridges up for stop start only, constant has been disabled on them.
I agree it’s completey out of order to switch off a fridge, could be carrying anything and affect hundreds of people. Like it could have important medicines on board that could all get ruined etc. Or if its food it could go off… still get delivered and end up giving folk food poisoning awe cos you took a huff.
I slept between two fridges last one night last week, best nights kip ever, couldn’t hear sod all else (drivers reving engines, trailer swaps, the usual)

Sorry,…Was that You? We could have gone for a Coffee.
Will wake You next Time
You know you shouldn’t feed the troll …coffee
Fridges don’t bother me. Can’t see why a driver would turn it off though. They are only doing their job same as you. You don’t know if they are carry temperature sensitive goods like ADR goods, you turn that fridge off then you go boom!
So dozy , were there any NON fridge trailers parked in the fridge only area ? If so I bet you didn’t go over and demand they should move …
Dozy by name dozy by nature …
■■■■ it up ■■■■■
A ‘lie in to 4’ ? What time do you normally start doze mate, if 4 is a ‘lie in’ ffs.
Dozy stated there was a specific area for fridges. If it’s full then that’s different, put up with it. If not, then selfish parking and driver deserves all he gets.
When I worked for Stobart about 6 years ago (I think), I was parked in services and alarm had gone off and I snoozed it. Exactly at that time I heard a fridge pull right next to me. Didn’t think much of it as I was nearly getting up anyway.
Snooze only set for 5 minutes then I got up. On walk round check there was PLENTY of spaces fridge driver could have stopped, he had ample room to spin or do a figure of eight he obviously saw Stobart and like the knockers on here obviously thought sod him.
Then a post above says jeez blokes only doing his job ham shankers some fridge drivers! Not all I must add.
Thought it was funny that even immigrant takes the pee out of dozy. In good English too.
If the fridge area is full its tough luck. Why should everyone else have to suffer !!
Dozy winds u lot up sits back and trolls all posts of u iot moaning bout anything , has he replied ,no, so it’s a windup

Now fridges dont bother me tho if on intermitant k may ask him if he can put on constant but if not not the end of the world . But a bloke i work with will happily let the fridge run if one pulls up next to him in the nite …but he will crack open the rear doors …same result in the morning
Thanks for that, next time one of those inconsiderate pricks pull up next to me for the night I will consider that, depending on my mood at the time, thank you.
Crack open the rear doors so that the fridge revs it nuts off trying to keep the temp down making even more noise ?
Rocket Scientist he ain’t
You would have thought by now operators and manufacturers will have come up with a cheap and easy anti tamper
What delicate little flowers some of you are. Turn off someone’s else’s fridge because its inconveniencing you a bit.
There are some pricks about that’s for sure…
dri-diddly-iver:
All well and good digging at dozy but if there are clear signs telling fridges where to park I’d turn the chuffer off anyway. Totally inconsiderate parking! Would serve him right to get load rejected.
You’re under the impression they’d check it once you get there.
Edit: Dozy is like that mate you constantly take the ■■■■ out of. Sometimes they look a little bit sad after you say something really mean.
But then you get right back to ripping them to shreds
