If you saw this in a truck would you

If you climbed into a clean tidy truck and saw this;

This is a Trampers Truck
Please show my home some respect.

Would you do as it asked or purposely go out of your way to ■■■■ the Tramper off ?

I wouldnt do anything other than what I normally do.
Keep it clean and leave it tidy.
Anyone who goes out of their way to purposefully mess up a unit just because the regular driver has asked (nicely I might add) that it be kept clean outta have their ■■■ removed with a blunt knife

I would do the same as always and leave it clean.

Isn’t it sad, people need to ’ ask ’ for others to treat their belongings/equipment with a little respect?

In the military, as I am sure most on here know, your kit needs to be in perfect working order and looked after. You, or one of your mate’s would be in real trouble if your weapon/kit is not bang on. This is not to say that all ex-squaddies are ’ immaculate for life '. And it is also true that a stint in the forces is not required to have some pride and respect.

However, in the civilian environment, there are very little ( if none at all ) consequences to being a selfish and scruffy prick. A friendly ’ word in the ear ’ very often results in phrases as " What’s it to you ", or " Its not ACTUALLY your truck, its the companies " etc, etc.

You cannot educate someone about pride. You either have it, or you don’t IMO.

Can I ask . Are you the note leaving tramper whose cab was trashed ? or did you see the note, took offence, and contemplated doing the trashing ? If, as I suspect, it is the former, I would be seeking the other driver out !!
Regards. John.

I’ve been in some trampers trucks that absolutely stink and you need a tetanus shot and you can never be sure whether those stains are spilled drinks or gentleman’s juice.

I would do exactly what the tramper asks, its his truck while he is with the company and if he looks after it its only right a spare driver or agency does the same,i would expect the same if I had a permanent truck,i know other drivers slate agencies [I am no longer agency by the way]but it would be a different story if I jumped in a truck to find a sign saying this, agency scum keep your thieving hands off my property, this happened at a company I was working at,when I asked who put the sign in there they refused to tell me and said not to worry as he would be reprimanded for it,me personally I would have willingly lost the work if I had a chance to have a little word with him and set him straight

If someone is going to trash your cab, there going to do it anyway note or no note, tramper or not. If someone is going to leave the cab as they find it there going to keep it that way anyway. Just my opinion. As an ex smoker,if I was in someone elses cab who didn’t smoke, then I wouldn’t smoke in it(you can tell). If I was in a smokers cab then I would have a smoke but would still leave it the way I find it. To this day I still carry a anti bacterial spray and a rag for steering wheel,gearchange,h/brake lever etc if im cab hopping or if someone else uses my unit. Ocd ?

I appear to have misread the post. I was expecting to see a photo of a messy truck. Tell me I wasn’t the only stoopid one who thought this.[emoji15] [emoji15] [emoji15]

non-issue, I always leave a unit in at least as good a state as I get it, I’ve seen some real ■■■■■■■■■ left by company drivers though.

Shouldnt be neccesary but seeing this would inform me the regular driver has had a bad experience with an agency driver, lets face it most regular drivers have had to put up with coming back from holiday and finding some agency scumbag has trashed it and munched on their biccys.

That doesnt mean all agency folk are scumbags with a total disreguard for proper drivers property but theres a large majority that are.

Anyway I would endeavour to ensure the truck was as clean if not cleaner than I found it which probably explains why im never agency for long.

If i saw that note in a vehicle i was going to use i’d have mixed reactions.

On the one hand i’d feel slightly aggrieved that the regular driver would assume i was one of the growing numpty brigade.
Then i’d feel sad that the regular driver has had to resort to pleading with the half wits who invest our industry, in vain no doubt, to take a bit of pride in their work.

Personally i’m just glad if i get back on shift and those who have used mine haven’t actually damaged it or lost/stolen some of the essential equipment we need for the job, i get annoyed if its been smoked in and doubly annoyed if its that thick regular agency twerp who thinks that spraying the steering wheel with polish throws us off the scent.
