.I think that wagon drivers should be allowed to drive buses anyway as they are little more than 7.5 tonners just dressed up differently. Also bus folk should be entitled to a C licence too.
An interesting opinion. I wonder what other dual licence holders think. I would disagree either way round. It is simple to alternate from one type to another given experience, but to just jump in on day one and go…no.
I think a tri-axle 15 metre coach is far from “little more than a 7.5 tonner”!!!
Don’t forget people from January 2014…vocational testing can be done in fully-automatic vehicles (Cat. C or Cat. D) & a manual licence is the end result!!! Happy days■■?
Get the 35 hours now so it covers you till 09/09/2019 and the DQC you receive will also cover you for PCV
I would look for a PCV dcpc approved trainer who has practical training approved and do it on a 2 to 1 basis over a 5 day course so you can get 28 hours of the 35
Taking a course to learn to drive a bus and passing a test to a required standard.
Zero DCPC hours.
Five first aid courses and its crack on drive here,s the keys.

This is exactly the point I was trying to get across. It may be possible,as Rog repeatedly points out to use an approved by JAUPT approved training centre to get 28 hours in whilst gatting the Cat C practical—but this would involve a 5 day course at considerable expense. Or you could do your 5 first aid classes at 50 to 70 quid a day.
Out of interest I called a local traing company (no,I ain’t gonna name them ) who told me it would be £120 for the 3 part theory tests,£975 + vat for a 5 day course NOT including any Dcpc hours & the woman also said I would have to do mods 2 & 4. Slightly more expensive eh.

I thought I would spend about 14 to 1500. I could maybe include a economy/safe driving course,
if it would deliver DCPC hours.
