If Carlsberg did bridge strikes

… they’d probably look like this

One of Longcliffes today apparently. Not sure of location though.
Edit to add; been informed it was one of Robinsons, not Longcliffes. Apologies to the MD of Longcliffes if he’s just read this and is feeling a tightening of his chest and tingles down his left arm!

View from t’other side.

Just found some me self ,save me cycling over :open_mouth:

That is definitely one of the ‘best’.

blimey he’s done a cracking job on that.

A real driver would have used the hiab to reload and put the bridge back where he found it

That’s going to be one humdinger of an insurance bill. :open_mouth:
I bet that driver is as sick as a ■■■■,…am I the only one who feels kinda sorry for him?
Ok, no excuse but if he’s on flats all the time it aint as bad as if done by a guy who pulls high trailers all the time…is it?

The mark 1 eyeball should be able to see a potential hazard no matter what he normally drives …

That was my route to and from work for 27 years! :open_mouth: Anyway it was an old bridge, erected around the 1830’s when the line opened, so it’s probably about time that it was renewed. :unamused: Considering that Robinsons yard is only a 100 yards or so from the bridge you would think the driver would know the height?

Pete.

windrush:

He can see/knows the height of the bridge but also ‘knowing’ the height of the truck isn’t going to help if the driver ‘forgets’ all about it at the wrong time in the wrong place. :bulb:

Was that bridge still used, or was it part of an old line?

Bridge still in use as part of the high peak trail linking up with the tissington trail mainly for cyclists and walkers

Ah well, it looks like they’ll be getting a nice new one now then.
Every cloud,… and all that.

C’mon Dan, how many have you hit??

It’s not that many years since a container got stuck under there and iirc due to bridge being marked at 14,2 when it’s 14 ft .

There’s time yet :open_mouth: same trail cross’s my street with a stone bridge ,my body is 5 ft high with a different load every day

Well that’s a proper job make no mistake.

10 out of 10 for effort.

Nice shiny new bridge at no cost to the owner why get upset alt all lol

Is that the most efficient way of converting a box/curtainside to a flat bed?

Now the cyclists will have to use the roads, typical.
