When I had my own unit on traction back in '99 and was on the road all week, every week, I came to the conclusion (through numerous observed incidents) that Micra drivers were indeed the worst drivers on the road. I see nothing has changed in 13 years.
Or german car drivers

That’ll be all your fault then Pete, if you listen to half of 'em on here…

So you post a video up on youtube complaining about another driver, then come on here to ■■■■■ about it, yet you were sitting far to close to the car infront given the conditions and the weight of your lorry…obviously not too close… he stopped didnt he?
Well done he did stop, but he was still too close for the conditions. Should of had atleast 4 sec gap due to the rain and weight of his lorry, had he of been sitting the right distance away it wouldnt of turned into the drama you see in the video. Yeah ok the car driver did something very silly but abit rich for the op to come on giving it the billy big ■■■■■■■■ when his driving isnt exactly on par either.
Actually stopping distances are increased by 4 times in wet and 10 times in ice and snow according to RoSPA. So gap should by the book have been 8 secs if one is a pedant.
In practice the gap was fine because everyone stopped no thanks to the prat in the Micra!!

another point i thought of earlier is where is the evidence that if the car stopped dead the truck wouldn’t havebeen able to stop? most of these camera systems only tell half the story and the lorry may have had plenty of stopping power in reserve■■?talk about a witch hunt…
Some people on here aren’t going to like this post but I’m gonna do it anyway.
OP puts a short clip of an outstanding piece of stupid driving just to show what can happen in front any one us everyday. End of.
There’s very little of " well done chap for keeping your rig in a straight line and avoiding a collision in poor road conditions by being alert".
No, the holier than thou cavalry rides into town and starts to pull the posters driving to pieces.
Some of these self righteous people I find insufferable especially rented trailer spotter. The use of the horn was unecessary!!!
People will think twice about starting threads which would be a shame.

Btw, he only just stopped doesn’t cut it. Maybe, just maybe the op has enough real world miles under his belt to realise (as most of us who work on planet Earth do) that he ddn’t need to exert maximum braking force because (a) he’s a professional (b) he indeed did have enough gap to the car in front that an emergency stop was not called for (c) he very likely would be the numpty in the trailer restacking stuff if he locked everything up for no reason.
See, I did work myself into an indignant strop! Oh btw Albion, if I added up all the miles I’ve driven, added up all the miles you’ve driven, multiplied them by ten, then I still wouldn’t be far enough away from you ya donkey!

For the umpteenth time he didn’t ‘stop’ at all and it had zb all to do with the Micra because the truck wasn’t even behind the Micra the truck was behind the car which was behind the Micra and ‘if’ ‘that’ car hadn’t taken ROG’s advice to keep going through on the inside, for whatever reason, then there was an unnacceptable risk that things could have turned out much worse than the already too close an issue it was.
So you’re saying that the seperation distance between the truck and the ‘relevant’ car in question in front of it ( not the Micra ),as shown at 1.18 on,( which is where things started to go pear shaped in regard to the incident in question from the truck driver’s point of view, not when the Micra driver decided to lose the plot ) was ok in your view.Yes or no .
It was a piece of muppet truck driving that can often be seen on any motorway etc etc and the truck driver in question should be thanking those of us who’ve said that he should know better not moaning about it.
Having said all that and assuming that at least Albion and myself (not ROG because ROG didn’t say that he could see any problem with the way the truck was being driven ) are wrong, then the truck driver won’t mind taking the advice posted on here to show the law what happened concerning the Micra on the video posted in question ‘if’ he is so sure that he was in the right concerning what is shown.

If Albion is right about the miles he’s driven being in the millions being that it takes around 10 years at 100,000 miles per year to make a million and you say you can beat that by a factor of ten.
