I hope you can find back wat is left in your memmery of that part of Rotterdam. Now you have there plenty of container terminals on the Heiplaatweg. Plenty of trucks are comming and going there to see. From there you are quick on the motorway to Europoort and the Maasvlakte. The otherway to go in the rest of Holland and to Germany.
Have an good time here and look out we driving on the right side of the road.
Here i have an old photo taken at Travemünde in Germany, 1991. Waiting for the costums to declere the groupage goods comming from Sweden. If you had in that time 2 of 3 ferrys at the same time you can wait for 2 til 3 hours.
DD Needham`s of Darlington , definately did work for Frans Mass, when i was their fitter. They used to load out of Birtley depot usually on a saturday nite. Work was varied, usually multi drop stuff, I remember Melly going with 14 drops to Germany , Haha, he wasnt happy!
I used to go up to Birtley occasionally, one time in a demo FH12, so, yes , it was that long ago!
They did international work for mybe 2 years, in fact, one time they had 5 motors over the water, even one wendy house!

Sorry that i dont give an anser. I was for an long holliday to France. Now i wil go on with this treath. Good to reed your story at the time by DD Needham’s.
When i started working at Faith Delivery, was it a courier service with two mercedes actros en a few mini van’s driving most of the time to Austria. Then they bought a Daf 95XF380, that truck was for another driver en started driving for Frans Maas. I was driving at one of the actros. A few months later they bought another Daf 95XF430 en that was mine new truck. I started driving for Frans Maas Waddinxveen to France. It was only at night we were driving, and sleep at daytime. It was only to Paris and Strasbourgh. One of the actros was only driving in Holland for Frans Maas but it was in the colors of Faith Delivery. When the company stopt driving for Frans Maas, the started driving Germany for B&F international from Barendrecht.
Hi Bert! verry nice fotos! The foto from the depo in stockholm,looks like its from the Shell gas station whit the good resturante next to the depo? Use to dine there white my dad when i was werry young! When i started to drive i hauld for ACT in stockholm who were a subbi for frans maas at the time. I hauld most for the stockholm office and if im remeber right the lady who i always talk to was Renata■■? anyway wery nice reading and good pictures!

Indeed that was by the Shell station in Tuma. You cross the railway, right the Shell station, strait on to Hanninge,left the road to the industiearea and then right the road to Frans Maas up the hill.
The lady on the office was Renate. Meet this lady planty of times at the office in Vasterberga by the Railway Transport station were we get the Huckepack trailers from the train.

Hi Bert! Well we muste have been there at the same time I had at the time an old black VolvoF10 Globetrotter 62 white a bullbar in the front. Then i got a DAF95xf 62 in2004 i think. just after that i stopped to haul from årsta and started to do norway for DHL. I`ll tryto post some pic
Indeed it was best posilbly dad we have been in the samen time next two each other unloading there. In mine collection i have 2 photos of Volvo F serie at that time.
Hi again! The blue,pink and purple F12,my friend drowe that for a time.Its a old F modle from the middle 80s,they send it to poland fore renovate and get the new front on in the middle of the 90`s They still haul but not trailers only containers.

I get for my collection some photos taken in Russia and Kazakhstan. You see there plenty of old Dutch and German tractors. lots of trailers are stolen in West-Europe of sold and now working in thoose countrys.
Here i have an ex Dutch tractor of the company Broersma with an Fans Maas trailer.
I see on the wsi site that they are releasing a 1/50 scale model of a Frans Maas DAF 2800 with tilt trailer at the end of this year Bert,get your order in.
