I have ordert 2 of thoose models. The photo thy used is taken by me by the company Hammacher in Hamburg near the Alte Elbe brucke in 1988.
Bert,
sorry itâs taken so long. Here are some pictures for your page. As far as I know they are all taken at FM Kontich (just south of Antwerpen). I donât know when they were taken, I rescued them from our office when it closed down. I have some more of a French depot, I will put them on soon.
trailer park
drop bodies in trailer park
this view I remember really well, coming into the industrial estate, Massive Lighting were on the right
another view of the trailer park, offices were to the left, note the ALUK unit and trailer
connecting road between warehouse and trailer park
very steep ramp, thatâs why these pictures were taken I think, because we would have to be careful taking our low-ride units down this ramp
not sure who this is, I think he worked in the office, standing in front of one of our units in ALUK (Toyota) livery
donât know where i got this picture from, the garage is in Cambridge, by the airfield, and is still there today, the trailer would have been a Gt Yarmouth trailer then I presume, not sure whoâs the Volvo is, or what happened to it.
Just back from a week holliday here in Holland. Thanks for thoose photos about Frans Maas Kontich. I have never been there but in the past i have load plenty of times in Slagersea in Danmark for Frans Maas Kontich. I bring then the trailer to Groningen and an other driver goâs then to Belgium.
In august of 1991 Frans Maas Groningen get the 75 ste new DAF from the DAF dealer at Groningen. Two monds later on an trip from TravemĂÂŒnde to Hellevoetsluis near Rotterdam. On the motorway A15 in the Netherlands near Deil, this tractor and trailer with 23 tons of rolls nylon-plastic, get of the road on his side.
Afther back on his weels, only two monds old, get total loss.
Sorry about this photos there a made from a photocopy.
Who nows something about this accedent with the VOLVO F89 tractor of Two Ways Freight from Great-Yarmouth.
Hello Bert, my mate Vince Dale used to drive for Two Ways Freight and I asked him about the accident. He thinks it was a bloke called Roly and he ran off the road near Huntingdon. He canât remember too much about it as it was a long time ago. At a guess I would say late 1970s. Best regards, Haddy.
Nice to meet you on this treath about Frans Maas. Thanks for the info of the accident with the Volvo F89 from Two Ways Freight.
Do your mate Vince Dale noâs something about the next photo. It was taking in Great-Yarmouth in the end 70âs starting 80âs. It is an Volvo F10 from Two Ways Freight with an trailer from Frans Maas with an happy crew on it.
Kontich again, ALUK truck parked
another view of the trailer park
poor quality picture, Airborne Express,Bordeaux, we used to collect from here a part loadâŠ
âŠand then top up here, Chazot, otherwise known as FM Bordeaux
the place was a dump!
FM Irun, view from warehouse loading bay, they was not a lot of room to manouvre
when you pulled off the bay, you had to pull right forward, then swing hard right but avoid this manhole with no cover
view from inside warehouse
Thanks for thoose photos. Special to see things how other places are where of Frans Maas. We had in Sweden and Norway that the office was in the city and the lager some were else. Most of the times in the industriearea of in the port like Malmö. By Frans Maas Stockholm the office was in Vasterbarga in an building on 3 the floor and the terminale in Hannige, later in Vasterbarga and Tumba. Sometimes 30 to 40 kmâs from the office. If your onloadings papers are not correct you can go back to the office. Fist always to the office, looking for an parkplace, ask 3 times if the papers are correct then to the terminale to onload. When you are onload, ask the chief if he had an fax for loading. If not you can ring the office to send the fax of go back to the office. Grrrrrrrr
Office of Malmö in the port near the Nordö Line ferry.
Onloading groupage on the terminale from Akka Frakt where Frans Maas an part had.
Hi Bert here is x FM Waddinxveen 3025 leaving Esbjerg for DSV terminal BrĂžndby. I can imagine a very sad day indeed for FM employees the day DSV took them over. Still, the name lives on for the moment at least.Goed reis.

Hello Short Walk,
Just back from on long holliday agen in South-France. Thanks for placing this picture. Indeed it is stil in the memory of lots of ex workers of Frans Maas in diverend countrys in Europe.
I have taking this picture on the motorway A28 near Hoogeveen in august 2011. This trailer was an ex one of Frans Maas Groningen and the tractor comes from Marcedonia.
This time an DAF 95 XF tractor with an Frans Maas Trailer from the Ukraine. Lots of trailers from Frans Maas are sold to the Ukraine afther Frans Maas was taken over by D.S.V.
I am stil in the Ukraine and fond more ex Frans Maas units. This time one ex DAF 95 310 ATI from Frans Maas Venlo. This tractor is from 1992 and stil on the move in Ukraine.
