Bert,
can’t have this thread slipping any further down the list! I’ve done some searching and found these. Taken in Great Yarmouth, early 90’s, can’t remember exact year but could find out if pushed. First is owner driver Hutch’s truck, he later became an employed driver on Yare Haulage. Sadly he died a few years ago, a really nice guy.
Second is one of Yare Haulage’s Volvo’s.

I remember Hutch I think he’d just finished as an owner Driver and was working for Yare Haulage, when I started working for one of the Frans Maas, Gt Yarmouth subbies that was 1994. As you said he was a really nice guy and a real character  and his death was very sudden (he was at work when he was taken ill) and a shock for all that knew him. :frowning:

and to change the subject, I was in Italy a couple of weeks ago and saw this truck packed at the Services just South of Parma on the motorway to La Spezia.

Hi Muckles,

Good to think about this thread if you are on the way in Europe.    Yanks. I think it is an Roumenian unit. Looking for the trailer. The yellow band on the side of the trailer is Roumenian.

From me the question about the company Clarke Transport. Was this an company who works for Frans Maas U.K. looking for the colours from tractor units. :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Dieselcowboy:

Bert, thought you may like this. I asked a friend of mine who worked in the first FM office in UK where he thought this was, and he thinks it may be FM Manchester, back in the late 1970’s.

Hi, Yes that is frans maas manchester in trafford park and the buildings are still there! I worked next door for elm transport and we loaded frans maas trailers. I started working at elm in 1976 and drove a bedford cf but in elm’s colours of red and white.

aha, mystery solved, thanks.
