If you have a regular 45 hour weekly rest period next weekend after Saturdays shift you’re good to work Saturday (Christmas eve).

Except he’s planning on starting 6am Monday so he’s only going to get 35 hours from 19:00 on Saturday.

Depends when you started your rest period before this bit and on your rest period the previous weekend.

That doesn’t really matter. If you work Monday/Friday and sometimes Saturdays you can reduce your weekend rest below 45 hours on two consecutive weekends provided you have a 45 hour rest period in every other fixed week.
So you could have a full rest period one weekend, (the rest period being at the beginning of Fixed Week 1) then work the following two Saturdays and have a full rest period the weekend after that (end of Fixed Week 3).
Supposedly bothered about the Mrs not being able to get to jury service, doesn’t mind missing, running in on Xmas day …we know it’s just a wind up but how long you been driving

It’s not going to make any difference, if he starts a 45 hour rest period after next Saturdays shift it can count for the coming week (week beginning 19th) if necessary.
If he never had a regular weekly rest period last week he needs to have this coming Monday off, either way it’s not going to affect next Saturday.

He’s not going to have a 45 hour rest period if he finishes on Saturday at 19:00 and starts on Monday at 06:00.

He hasn’t said he’s working boxing day.
Though I agree he won’t be able to work next Saturday if he wants to start at 06:00 on boxing day, which is why I said “If you have a regular 45 hour weekly rest period next weekend after Saturdays shift you’re good to work Saturday (Christmas eve).”

That’s what I wrote too but you replied that it didn’t matter.
Regardless, from everything I’ve read on here Dozy isn’t a newbie, so, assuming he is actually driving and not sitting by a pool in Benidorm asking provcative questions out of sheer boredom, I think he ought to have enough experience to been able to locate info like that in the link below, where it clearly states:
In any 2 consecutive ‘fixed’ weeks a driver must take at least:
2 regular weekly rests or
one regular weekly rest and one reduced weekly rest
^^^^^ Assuming that he had a regular weekly rest period last weekend, if he has a regular weekly rest period after next Saturdays shift he will have complied with the regulations that say you must have at least one regular weekly rest period in two consecutive weeks (paraphrasing).
Nowhere do the regulations say you cannot have two consecutive reduced weekly rest periods.

They are two separate things. You can work two Saturdays in a row, even if that reduces your rest period that weekend below 45 hours, provided that you have a full rest period in every other fixed week.
Sounds like Dopeys anticipating stocking up on ginsters pasties and manky oranges ahead of the road trip to Benidorm
Btw Dopey I’ve just flown back in from the Canaries where it was a modest 25’c all week

I’m well aware of that, the link I posted shows a graphic where there are two consecutive reduced rests.
Is it really safe to assume he had a regular weekly rest the previous weekend when he’s asking if he can do the shifts he wants to? Whatever the reality is of “The Poster Known as Dozy”, his reputation, plus his current question, wouldn’t inspire me to assume anything with any degree of confidence.
