How would you describe yourself

How would you describe yourself. vote please and say why and how you voted.

Humbly! one of the greats,my Mum told me.

I’m passably good at driving an articulated lorry although by no means the best.

I wouldn’t say I was “more professional than most” because “more professional” doesn’t mean “better”, “professional” simply means you get paid for doing something, cf “professional footballer”.

As I never tire of pointing out, you could bake dog turds and sell them as ornaments. If that is what you do for a living you are a professional dog turd baker.

I’m pretty good at my job, I’m definatley conscientious, if a little needy, but i will certainly never stop learning, new routes, new ways of securing loads, lifting techniques… the list goes on.

so i picked the last one on the list

Delboytwo why didn’t you include ‘totally useless and in the wrong job’.Could be an indication of how many honest people are on Trucknet.

Having other skills beyond driving coupled with being able to do the same job as everyone else, yet cheaper (low damage overhead) whilst earning a better rate for myself (no compromise) makes me more of a professional - albeit in the same way an ■■■■■■ is a better class of working girl.

After all, what can an ■■■■■■ do that a street walker cannot - IF it’s only about the sordid ■■■ and “getting the job done” at minimum pay? :grimacing:

Driving is like life, theres always something new to learn around the next corner

Wonder what T & D will vote!!

I’ve voted “Willing to learn from anyone with the right advice” but we should be able to choose more than one answer really

Im very conscientious in my job, even when im right ■■■■■■ off with it, I’l still go out of my way to tow the line and do it properly,
Im also very saftey conscious, I have to be as before i landed this job, I was a ganger on the railway for 15 years and it was my job to ensure that the other guys working under me didn’t finish up in several black plastic bags at the end of the day and trains with a few hundred people on board stayed out of the dirt, theres alot of resposibility with that crap!

Willing to learn from anyone with the right advice I only passed my C+E 9 days ago so am always gratefull for advice from more experienced drivers lol
