How sad do you need to be?

when does it get that bad when you come to a hold up on the motorway and you feel you have to come off at the exit to join it again and cause more holdups just to gain 300yds?you sad bucker, what is going through your very tiny little brains?nothing thats what, the turd that did it tonight got all angry because the traffic moved on the motorway and he ended up by the side of me trying to push his way back in haha and thanks to the dhl behind me who wouldnt let him in either, once a banker allways a banker

I agree on a small junction, however Heathrow T4 and A30 Egham I have hopped both junctions when running with a mate, he stayed on. I got back to Guildford 20 mins before he did. It does work and if the traffic has backed up to the M4 then there is no reason and its not un-gentlemanly to shoot down the filter lanes.

Man up and chill out on a girlie cider.

Calm down its only tuesday … :sunglasses:

Ive always wanted to say that …

the only thing it does is back the traffic up on the 25 but aslong as your ok thats fine,do you also dive into the services to try to save a nanosecond

I regularly jump the queue at the Dartford Tunnel by coming off the A2 at Bean Interchange and going past Bluewater etc but I don’t think of that as cheating, just knowing a better way to go.

About 10x a day, I approach a roundabout with a left turn only lane 1 & a straight on or turn right lane 2. The left turn lane 1 always seems to be backed up & moving slowly, so I simply drive up to the roundabout in lane 2, do a full circle then exit to make my left turn.

I can’t understand why others seem happy to wait in lane 1?

Coming off at a motorway exit only to immediately rejoin it in order to avoid a jam, I’d call that queue jumping. Ok in the relative safety of a large goods vehicle cab, but I bet the poor excuses wouldn’t do it in a chip shop on a Saturday night !

anything to save diesel haha

if i,ve lost sight of a bit of totty i have been known to go up the slip and back down the other side to get in front of her again

had 1 behind me today (blank blue unit and trailer) totting along in the queue and at the very last second before the chevrons he decided that he was going to make a dart for it.
up the slip road he went over the ■■■■■ and back down the on slip to rejoin…
exactly where he was before he made the jump… behind me:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

No not to gain a nano second but to gain 20 mins if I’m struggling, and no I don’t do it at the services or any small junction as I’ve said before only on the m25 where miles of filter lanes are provided, it’s not like its a regular occurrence and the traffic has to be physically stationary to gain an advantage worthy by doing this act otherwise you will just end up filtering back in pointlessly around the same area.

Backs up traffic? You could delve into it more deeply and say I’m relieving traffic at the back of que by taking my self out of the equation and putting me back into the equation further down?
Where does this theory end?
A rhetorical question - If two lanes merge into one in 600 yards should all the traffic get over into lane 1 ASAP thus becoming stationary and backing the congestion up for half a mile back or should the traffic use the lanes to their full capacity and merge in turn at the end thus relieving congestion??

when i used to be a white van man, i used to do that at thebig roundabout on the stanningley bypass by asda on my way home. several times people were annoyed enough to ring the ‘well driven?’ number on the back of the van

also had someone ring up coz i overtook him on the A61 between harogate and leeds. apparently his complaint was that he was doing 80 when i went past him. oops!

When I used to drive a taxi in Lincoln on nights I always used to go through on a green filter spin round the other side of the junction and make my turn on a green the other side, on average I worked out per night I was sitting on red lights for nearly 1hr per 12hr shift, and normally at lights where there was zero traffic.

I tend to only do the roundabout thing in the city in the car tbh.

Typical cockneys = Can’t WAIT! :open_mouth: :unamused: :grimacing: having digi has made it worse, clock watching? If we used the zip method " MERGE IN TURN " as in other countries NZ, Germany and suchlike, we wouldn’t watch knobrashes do what the OP has said! Bad driving, it’s the DSA’s fault for giving motorists a licence! Endex! :open_mouth: :unamused: :grimacing:

I’ve done it at the jnt for jabbekke servs heading east when stuck behind a queue of trucks sitting at 50mph.

You should do this.

I remember heading back from Scotland in the car years back stop start stop start traffic for god knows how many miles, we were just approaching the end of the slip road markings at one of the M6 services and the eldest abruptly decided she needed to use the facilities. In we went and parked up, the better half decided she fancied a cuppa so we did that too, exited the services back into lane 1, 3 vehicles behind the one we were behind when we entered the services (and no he hadn’t used the services too)!!! We left Ayr at 12 noon, got back to Bristol at gone 2am, traffic was a nightmare more or less from start to finish!!

Guilty as charged on that one! :frowning:

Best bit is, you then also have right of way over the traffic in the queue!

M1 southbound between J21A and J21 in the morning rush queues from J21 towards J21A and many vehicles of all sorts use the LFE services to gain a more forwad place in the queue to exit the M1 for either Leicester or M69
