How much trouble will I be in?

Coming back up the M40 tonight, listening to the footy on the radio, attention must have drifted as I happen to glance at speedo… 71!!

Now in my defence I have mostly been driving auto renaults which kick the exhaust brake at 58, and flash a warning on the dash before the tacho records an over speed!
Today I was driving a manual Daf which doesn’t do any of those!

Sign an over-speed thing and thats it.

depends how ■■■■ your company is, as for any legal implications non at all as you can’t get done of that on a tacho check, it would be a bollicking from your boss if its picked up thats about all i would of said :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

If you catch yourself speeding, you’re obliged to inform VOSA,the Police,the Traffic
Commissioner and your employer.
That’s 4 bits of trouble you’ll get.
Loss of job
Loss of HGV licence
Loss of car licence
Loss of house etc…

However, if you don’t tell anyone…?

No trouble at all. Great result though, im listening to all the gooners ringing in moaning about how they haven’t won a trophy in 9 years :laughing:

I wouldn’t think you’ll be in any trouble at all. Just fill in a speed limiter defect when you finish your shift. Sorted.The truck is designed to run boot to the floor.

If it’s the sort of place they turn a blind eye to drivers smoking in the cab almost certainly no trouble at all. :wink:

I had 3 overspeeds on my tacho on Monday…none of them were over 60mph but I wouldn’t be worried as nothing is going to happen to you unless you were caught on a police camera.
