n17 trucker:
You should see some of the trucks where I work ( Searon Logistics) . Some of the lads have spent thousands no joke, some look ok but others are well ott. Don’t see the attraction myself but each to their own
looking at that fleet, i thought it was all paid for by the boss, as they nearly all have lots of added extra’s.

Nope drivers choice they’ll let you do what you like within reason and as long as it’s done properly. Most of the blinged trucks are from the Peterborough depot we have a few at Fxto including the black anniversary Scania which is understated but looks good IMO.

There is also a little daf rigid flying about that belongs to a bed manufacturer. It has so many bright white LED lights, it’s like being overtaken by a sunbed!
I see that regular he must have a massive alternator running to keep those lights going.I hope he does his own bulbs
Do my head in all the LED in the cab at night, cracks me up when they like to Preen although each to their own, I like keeping it on the down low most of the time. Saw one coming against me one night in the week & the while front of the wagon was lit up like the coca cola wagon & people ask me why I wear sun glasses at night…

My tipper trailer used to have bulbs for the rear whit marker lights, these were changed a few weeks ago for LED’s Hate them, I have to turn the lights off when reversing so I can see past them, nothing to do with bling really just a grumble!! I did today come across a small tipper that had some incredibly bright blue LED roof marker lights! They were so bright I could hardly see the road (very narrow) to pass him, those nobel awards should never have been given to the engineers that developed high intensity blue LEDs I hate all these day drive LED light too BTW, perhaps it is just me?

As far as I know, it is still illegal to show any kind of blue light on a vehicle other than on an emergency services vehicle, so your over-taker was almost certainly breaking da law! robert
blue lights are legal anywhere so long as they don’t,or cant flash/strobe,or otherwise imply…mee maw, mee, maw…so long as you have white sidelights,in front, then blues are fine as well…no point in kicking the ■■■ out of it though. theres tasefull bling, and then theres the tang bling…always 2 diff things.its less of a prob now due to the number of blingmobiles on the road, but I first got pulled in 1978 for having blues on the truck,a polite ■■■■ off,and im still waiting on the charges that were meant to be forthcoming, ive had the same story several times since. if they don’t flash, they don’t count so long as your existing lights are legal,no doubt some plobbing plob could makeup some other charge for obscuring vision,or whatever, but not for having additional blues,or greens,or whatever…
