How much bling?

Last night on the M1, I saw a bright blue light in my mirrors. First thought, an emergency vehicle far behind me, but the lights weren’t flashing and it wasn’t catching me quickly enough. After a while, he caught me up and I realised it was a truck with one of those led signs inside the cab, above the bunk…but this one was WAY brighter than any I’d seen before. It lit up his cab like daylight, and it must reflect off the inside of the windscreen and have a detrimental affect on the driver’s night vision. He also had his frilly cab curtains half closed, and frills hanging around the top of the screen.

So, my question…does bling ever cross the line and become dangerous?

Did the mobile brothel, Indian restaurant have Bull fighter spears. It is odd how drivers with blinged motors are dressed like they have robbed the black bin liner bags that have been left on the door step at Oxfam.

Was it a Scania

We need a like button for the comment above

Daf 105.

I am a Scania fan , just wondered haha

That sounds like one that overtook me on the M5 the other week, I thought exactly the same as you.

There is also a little daf rigid flying about that belongs to a bed manufacturer. It has so many bright white LED lights, it’s like being overtaken by a sunbed!

Bloody bling ,I got in a Daf 95 only to move it ,frilly curtains ,motorbike tyre on the steering wheel ,table on the dash ,wind deflectors on the windows ,I couldn’t even see the mirror with out a big effort .

Have seen a few with the blue logo sign inside the back of the cab. I also wondered how much reflection there is off the windscreen. It can’t help the visibility for the driver. A lot of this bling is way over the top. I’m surprised that Vosa haven’t brought out some regs to control it.

Yeah that is like Blackpool lol

I thought a Christmas tree was coming down the M6 when I was doing nightshift at the start of the year :grimacing:

As far as I know, it is still illegal to show any kind of blue light on a vehicle other than on an emergency services vehicle, so your over-taker was almost certainly breaking da law! robert

Was it a downtons truck by any chance

Side interior curtains are getting out of control ,why would you want to ride round having to lean forward to see at junctions etc just so you can have a crafty smoke or use the phone ,its dangerous and wants sorting out,if you have got a nice motor why hide behind sloppy curtains, mark h is the worst culprit, sorry m8 :unamused: :unamused:

Drives me nuts all the bling! Fair enough have a few pretty lights on it and a couple of home comforts inside, but jaysus, some of them you can just imagine what their house is like at christmas, lol!

The sunbed comment above made me spit my tea though

When i was a kid we used to call them argos racers ,what a waste of money, drivers moan about wages but they are willing to pay for tat :unamused:
