Just wondering how many miles or km someone has got out of a truck ,scania ,Volvo ,merc, daf etc.i know a guy that had a 380volvo with 2 million done it was 1994 and looked like a ball of scrap but was still going and pulling well on tipper work ,thanks
Trigger once stated on Only fools and horses that he had the same broom for 20 years as he “Maintained it for 20 years. This old brooms had 17 new heads and 14 new handles in its time.”
Yes no original parts but still the same broom, the same with a vehicle, it could go on forever, as long as cost is not a problem, the only thing that could end its life would be if the chassis failed, but still if the cost was not an issue, then on it goes!

A good motor should be capable of achieving 56mph/90kmh & go to the moon & back several times
The moon is on average 238,857 miles away, not really that far when you think how far you have driven in your life. I estimate I have driven around 500,000 miles since 1995 when I passed my car test. So I have been to the moon and back, wow!
Is there now a RDC there?
yep with a cage for the drivers, a coffee machine that doesn’t work and a copper with some pink chalk!
Rumour has it that the first truck driver to go the moon was a Dutchman. He was nearly beaten to it because an Englishman was waiting at the border, but he had a dodgy permit and had run out of running money.
Was trigger from somewhere out there, great show
Border with where Harry ?

Usually around 400 miles per day / night = 2000 miles per week, so just under 100k per year in the truck alone.
It’s like sayings how long is a piece of string …

Not this Scumia driver, 230bhp in wag + drag form… Really no claims of any power whatsoever here, and no cup holder either

don’t be ridiculous
hows the coffee stay in the cup
My 02 reg on coltons had 1.2million kms on it, but was starting to tire. They were spending the equivalent of finance for a new motor at one point on it. For about 3 months they were spending 2-300 on it every weekend. Imho of working with Volvos of various ages, they tend to be trouble free between 1-400 thousand, then you get wave 1 of troubles. Then they’re good between 5-800 thousand but after that they become a money pit.
last year i drove at royal mail a 54 plate daf with 1.3million kms on it the regular lads were not happy as they had to swap their 59plates for them!

Simples … it has a cover with a non return valve fitted, btw TOBM said the coffee machine was broken.
We have 11 plates with 250,000 on them but don’t know what they will be like to drive in 2 years time.
