Ive noticed a growing trend of folk who are oblivious to the fact that lane 2 or lane 3 (or both) are closed and they are heading directly to the cones of the taper!
Funny as ■■■■ when you see the brake lights come on and they got nowhere to go.
The fact that the HA have put big yellow signs up telling them for the last 800 yards seems to make little difference either.
Driving without due care and attention- Where the ■■■■ is their head at??
Last night on the A9 between Perth and Inverness, I caught up with a Tescos lorry, sat behind him until a dual carriage way section, then went for the over take. He sped up and really struggled to get past him, had to go into overspeed to pass him. As soon as we got back onto a single carriage way he slowed right down again. The exact same thing happened again with a Long Lane Deliveries truck (only seen the back of the trailer). I caught him up doing 82k on a single carriage way, I didn’t even get a chance to pull out on the first dual part because off he went!!! And I swear, it was as if he slowed down and waited for me at the other end of the D/C. After this happened twice I pulled in for a 5 mins… just to catch up with him as we approached Inverness.
Similar story on way back down with another (or possibly the same Tesco guy)
I wasn’t angry just confused… Anyone else noticed this on the A9?

This happened to me again last night, in fact it seems to happen to me every time the motorway reduces to 1 lane, some lunatic flying up the inside of me in a kamikaze-style bid to nip in front of me right at the last second (despite there being miles of slow-moving traffic ahead in the 1 lane, I don’t know how these idiots think they’ll get anywhere any quicker). Last night it was some idiot in a people carrier (probably 5 kids in the back) who had to slam on to avoid going into the side of me, worst thing was he nearly took out a poor Highways Agency worker who was setting out the cones in the process.

Cryers
I’d say 90% of my morning runs lead me on to Queensdrive, East Lanc, M62.
I see plenty of silliness on them roads, but I just plod along and let them do what they need to do whilst I listen to 5Live.
I got caught out today on the M6 filter lane for the A14, I left a safe gap between me and the car in front when a van decides to pull in front of me and slam on the brakes… this was not the problem,( as I was expecting some fool to do this ) it was the motor who was following up his arse basting his train horn at him… made me jump out of my skin and spill my brew… ■■■■■■

Had a similar experience on the M40 the other night.
Matrix signs overhead suddenly showed all lanes closed with a red x apart from the outside lane. It was around 2am, checked mirrors, no traffic about so I scooted over to the third lane. At this point I’d seen no signs to suggest roadworks so assumed there’d been an accident.
Then, up ahead I see a sign. Lanes 1 & 2 closed 1000 yards ahead 50mph average speed blah blah blah.
Ease off. Set cruise control to 50mph, then a car comes racing up behind me in lane 3, front of the car drops down as he slams the brakes on. Horns, flashing lights all start going. Then he undertakes, just as the lanes are closing. Somehow manages to nip in front, then sits at 45mph all through the roadworks!
Amazes me

Last night was the exact same LLD truck sat at 45-48 on single carriage way and then 56 on dual carriage way. He over took a van on the single carriage way not far north of Perth, then I got past the van on a dual part, caught up with him then he started playing the games.
I saw the same truck this morning when I was heading south, he was heading north in Inverness, a tall young looking fella with a pony tail… might not have been the same guy as last night but■■? Two nights in a row, the Long Lane Delivery arse holes have been at it
The cutting in at the last second at lane closures seems to be a popular contest with car drivers on the M40.
I had one last night going south on the M40, I was in lane one and just passing the 800yd board showing lanes 2 and 3 were closed. There were two cars a fair way back behind me in lanes two and three, as I passed the 400yd board the one in lane two had moved over to lane one but the second one was still out in lane three and moving like the proverbial of a shovel.
By the time I was about one car length from the point of entering a single lane he started coming alongside me so I slowed down and moved over to the edge of the vibra line. If he wants to kill himself that his choice I wasn’t about to put myself of my van at risk. As he squeezed past me I heard three loud bangs in quick succession as he clipped the cones.
Two things that amused me were… One there was a bendy truck about four car lengths ahead of me so he wasn’t go to get anywhere any faster. And second… as I followed behind him I noticed the wing mirror of his shiny 15 plate volvo estate was hanging down the side of his drivers door and no doubt leaving lots of scratch marks in his shiny new paintwork
Heading to Wigan this morning via M58. Fog was thick. Car A zoomed past no lights on. Car B in front with lights on went to pull out into 2nd lane. Car A flew out into 3rd lane.
Don’t think Car B even knew Car A was there until he flew past.
Thought I was about to plough into two mangled cars
Lithuanian car transporter cut me up twice last night on same bloody roundabout, M25/A2 junction, I’m in right hand lane to turn right onto A2, he comes up the inside and cuts in front of me, got to A2 exit and he’s still in outside lane, I’ve moved across to nearside for A2 and he realised at last second that he’s in wrong lane and cut across in front of me.
Now him being a flip-flop, I guessed he might be heading to Dover so made allowances for him but it could have been nasty for someone who wasn’t expecting it.
I saw some knob, must have had a new dash cam, nearly run into the back of a romanian left ■■■■■■ who was trying to exit a layby this morning, fella had loads of time to slow up but just kept coming, bet he tries to blame the foreign driver. I think it may have been hammy 747.
