How many idiots on the road have you experienced this week?

On a normal trip , its the odd car or two & oddly enough usually an audi or merc or bmw that will cut in close in front of you.

However this can alter if nearing rush hour, this becomes any car & odd van , with driver half asleep, driving like they should have been ‘there yesterday’, flying past you on bends , cutting across in front of you on roundabouts etc. just got to keep your eyes everywhere :open_mouth:

Do you think different regions have worse drivers? I tend to find East Anglia drivers particularly courteous.

I live in Warrington and ive lost count.

Maybe different times of day or night in certain areas, there may be more courteous drivers about, or on different routes. In rural areas i have found them not too bad .

Warrington is full of polite, courteous drivers who all have excellent taste in Rugby League…wash your mouth out you so and so!

Yes… I’ve seen loads of idiots. And without exception they were all truck drivers.

So on the A1 I move across and let a tipper out of a junction he then races me on the inside and leaves me stranded until I have to brake and pull back in . Logthornes or similar. What a shining example of camaraderie.

I must admit when helping an elephant racer out part of me just want to floor it and see how long I can keep them there, this works best if you keep your nose in front.

Its also really annoying when you help a tipper merge on the A1 get 60% past and then the buggers are coming back at you leaving the best option of nipping back in behind and acting natural and then having a good half hour chunter about what I would like to do to them if I was only a bit more butch.

My method for tippers joining from a slip road is to block em, then as they start running out of road ease off so they have to come to a complete standstill, added bonus is if they are fully laden they may find themselves stranded for sometime.

However they will want payback so when they catch up be prepared for more shenanigans.

The only solution really is just to relax and have another brew and remember its not personal. Well apart from tippers its always personal with them numpties…

I realise that not all tipper drivers are bad just almost all of em.

Car drivers on roundabouts not indicating really riles me!!

Had a situation a few times now where I have been waiting to pull out onto a roundabout for what feels like an eternity, monitor a pattern of where they are going, and decide that they are mostly taking the exit prior to where i am entering, so make the decision to go. Then get a car driver come flying round the r/bout not indicating and I am already comitted. Therefore forcing him to slow and possibly stop! He then starts giving me ■■■■ for basically slowing him down as he is obviously going to get to his destination 10 seconds slower!! I simply shout back “that’s what indicators are for you f-in d**khead!!!” There is no excuse for not indicating, unless either there are no other road users around or your indicator doesn’t actually work! If the latter then get it fixed!!!

When I transition from truck to car, I don’t suddenly transform into a lunatic. Apart from the fact that I can now go everywhere about 10-14mph quicker!!! I pretty much always indicate on r/bouts, unless there is absolutely no one about then what’s the point!! If anything starting class one work has made me a better car driver as I have now seen both sides of the coin, and I would say you are a lot more aware of things when in a truck!! If that makes sense!!

Opposite for me , as soon as I’m in me car I display all the bad habits that I have had to put up with all week. Indicating on rounadabouts - no chance, running red lights - yep, speeding - defo, drag racing, undertaking, tailgating, tribbing, wearing a hi viz vest whilst behind the wheel, not changing bulbs etc I’m your man… Got so bad that I have to use fake plates now just to get home.

I expect every vehicle to be driven by a knobhead :unamused: I’m just pleasantly surprised when I see someone driving well :open_mouth:

One of my great uncles, when teaching my gran to drive, said “treat every other road user as a homicidal maniac out to kill you”, if anything his words from the 1920’s will still be as relevant in the 2020’s :unamused: :frowning: It’s one of the first things each generation of our family hears when they start to drive

Anyone reckon the lunar eclipse on Friday will send people loopy on the road?

Due around 8am I think, first full eclipse for a while, last one for quite a few years as well.

Should have a sweepstake on which motorway comes to halt first when plunged into darkness!

£1 on the M6!

It’s a SOLAR eclipse and we won’t be plunged in darkness. Starts about 8:30 and I don’t think it’s a FULL eclipse. No betting for me on any carnage that may follow thankyou, but I could bet more likely to be cloudy! Fingers crossed though :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

When folk learn to drive nowadays are they taught to indicate right on roundabouts if they are turning right  its a serious question because not many drivers seem to do it especially car drivers  i was starting to think that practice had been knocked in the head

Glasgow drivers need motorway driving instructions, it’s a case of ‘pick a lane any lane, I used that one yesterday so it’s a different one today’ …anybody else noticed this.

Yeah they are taught to indicate right if turning right. The problem is threefold; they can’t be arsed, monkey see monkey do, and finally there is no visible deterrent to stop their bad habits.

Born idle-its not the rugby league loving locals that are the problem mate, its the balloons in their repmobile audis that are the problem in the majority of cases.

The amount of cars i start to pull out then have to brake doing this trick is unreal :roll, the problem is i work for a very high profile image is everything company and road rage is deffinate a no no

Tbh Seth, if they can’t be arsed to indicate then I can’t be arsed to stop! Within reason of course, I can’t be arsed with paperwork either!

The joys of driving a wagon with no markings on. Pull out, don’t give a zb!
