How many hgv licence holders in uk?

Any one know how many hgv licence holders there are in uk ? I’m doing something for my blog and wanted to know where to look to find out. I’m sure I saw it somewhere any help apreciated

I read about 10 years ago that there were about 800,000 hgv licences in circulation, I would imagine that it is somewhat less than this now.

that would include me not driven a lorry for a good few years I wasnt going to renew it last time but my old lady said you never know when you might need it so not being one to argue with the guvnor I did after paying my doctor £100 for the privilege, dont envy the guys who do it now with all the regulations cameras ,vosa, speed limiters, tracking devices on the motors all the parking restrictions especially in london and that sign on the back of trucks “am i driving ok if not ring this number” so someone a______e can grass you up for something no good luck to the guys and gals who drive now, I do notice there are a lot of eastern europeans driving now , great web site this long may it reign its 1130 on sunday so will be of to the fosters shop soon cheers

Well, there are around 450,000 HGVs registered with DVLA, and given that some are double or treble shifted, I would guess at around half a million.

there is none in the uk as now it called an LGV, so i must be the only one that as the right licence :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:
